People and reporters bitoched about the BCS because computers don't "care" about emotions and feelz, and could not lobby them into a result. This is exactly why we need the BCS computers. I never have liked the idea of a "committee" of people that have human biases, and can be swayed one way or the other by peers, $$$$, or whatever.
I originally wanted to see the BCS system with computers used to set the bracket, which would remove a lot of the issues above, but again, $$$$ and feelz *(read write easy stories and get your name associated with the traditional power houses. Not the real ones, the traditional ones. No one wants to write a "big story" of Coastal Carolinas and wait for it...The Texas A&Ms. They want to write their big story on the same teams that all the big reporters/writers have written about. It feelz better. Every hear the phrase ".....where college football needs them, and they deserve to be....."? I have, too many times. That is a commentator stating basically someone deserves to be on/at top of college football because they are "better" than everyone else based on history, not what they have done recently against modern competition.
It's all a sham, They tried to keep Clemson out, but Clemson forced their way in because they could not be denied, via undefeated, conference champion seasons. With the current line up, if the Ags would have played Bama in the title game, and Bama gives them the close loss, ND and tOSU get in anyway, but with a "closer" feel.
Bring back the BCS/computer system to set the top "whatever" teams the playoff is set for. Until then, it is all garbage.
"Green" is the new RED.
