After the performances put up by Miss St the last couple weeks it shouldn't be close. That said.... it'll be close.

Miss St may have a ton of turnovers to-date, but it's still our secondary and they'll still throw it 70 times.

Given the O/U of 56 and how poorly MSU has done offensively lately.... I would say it has more to do with concerns in our secondary and our overall pass defense. The implied score is basically 31-24 after Miss State got shut out last week.

I know that doesn't fit the hater narrative though...

Sharps must not be sold on Mond's consistency issues. Should be a close one.

-6.5 is roughly what it would have been before the season started.

With our secondary and no pass rush, MSU will score on us. We'll have to sustain long drives on O to reduce their touches and hopefully get some turn overs.

I think we should Rush 3. Drop 8. Literally every play

Mississippi State has -11 turnover margin (16 giveaways to 5 takeaways), but our secondary has been poor so far. Also, Jimbo Fisher is 2-6 in SEC road games, and both of those road wins were decided by 7 points or less; a 26-23 win over 7-6 South Carolina in 2018 and a 24-17 win over 4-8 over Ole Miss in 2019. In fact, we have not scored more than 26 points in a road game since a 31-24 win at Ole Miss on 11/18/17.

We have not won in Starkville, Mississippi since 2012. The 35-28 loss in 2016 was the most disappointing because we entered the game as a No. 4 7-1 team, but we came out flat. Yes, Trevor Knight got injured, but our defense allowed 574 yards (209 passing and 365 rushing) and 35 points. I believe that loss was the beginning of the end of the Kevin Sumlin era. In 2018, I wasn't surprised with a 28-13 loss because Mississippi State had the second best scoring defense (13.2 point allowed per game) in the nation. Only Clemson allowed fewer points that year, but MSU finished 8-5 because their offense struggled in most games.

It will be interesting how we defense MSU. DB depth is not our strength, DL strength is. I think we will be fine but we still need to bring our A game on the road.

I think he is actually just a desperate Mike leach trying to post here hoping jimbo and Elko get their advice from Texags. And then knowing the defensive strategy to never blitz a shaky turnover prone QB design the offense around that.

Not gonna work Mike, we are on to you.

I'd stay away from the line.

Love the over of 56.5....seems like easy money.

MSU hasn't scored in something like 25 possessions, they looked atrocious. It's hard to explain just how bad Kentucky played and still the game wasn't close. Kentucky may have a qb that couldn't start for Cy-Fair, he's freaking awful. MSU runs the same 5 yard crossing pattern/pick play seemingly every other down.
