******edited op to describe most recent version of the game********

For anyone who enjoyed this game, a new version is out with a Texas City map. Hope you will join my team (Midland / Odessa) but feel free to join whatever team you like. A few helpful links like where to play and how to get involved in strategy discussion is provided below along with a current map.

Where to play: aggierisk.com

Where to get involved with strategy discussion, memes, etc...: https://tx.ag/AggieDiscord

Best team to join: Midland

Current map:

********original OP below*******

The new thread each day was too much so we will post the daily updates all in one place, right here. That should make it easier for people with a watch list to keep up and we can add important information to this OP as people ask questions....Feel free to ask questions and I will update the OP with important information as questions come up.

How to join:

  • Make a Reddit account on www.reddit.com
  • Use that Reddit account to login to www.collegefootballrisk.com
  • Join our private subreddit @ www.reddit.com/r/AggieCFBRisk
  • Read the latest strategy post on the subreddit to join our Discord!
  • Make sure to check the Discord (or the r/AggieCFBRisk subreddit if you do not have Discord) every day for orders and visit www.collegefootballrisk.com every day to play! This is not a huge time investment! It only takes 2 minutes a day (at absolute most!) to check orders and play.

  • How to join the Aggie CFB Risk Subreddit:

  • Log into your Reddit account and go to /r/AggieCFBRisk. This is a private subreddit, so you will not be able to view anything initially.
  • Message the mod team (or just click here). Please include your A&M class year and major, the Reddit or TexAgs username of the Aggie who invited you, or explain how you found out about Aggie CFB Risk.
  • A moderator will message you promptly, and may ask you a few questions. This is necessary to keep spies from other schools out!
  • Once you are approved, you will be able to view the subreddit's content.

  • Guide to the CFB Risk Website

Once you've connected your Reddit account, the CFB Risk page will change slightly. I'm describing the main page left to right, top to bottom.

    • Top bar with links to Home, Leaderboard (overall heat map and stats for remaining teams), Team Odds (team heat maps and stats for each territory), How to play (overview of the game and how it works)
    • Presented by collegefootballdata.com
    • Countdown to the end of the turn, at 10PM Central time
    • Links to the main CFB Risk subreddit, Twitter, and main Discord server
    • Your Reddit username, team, and how many stars you have based on 5 criteria explained here. The higher your star rating, the more impact your move has. Play every day to earn more stars. Maintaining a streak of at least ten days is the easiest yet biggest thing you can do to help! Click your username for a breakdown of your past turns.
    • Your team. Click for your team's statistics and pretty graphs!
    • A map of the United States, broken down into territories based on college football teams. If you click on the territory, the name of the territory is the name of the team it originally belonged to, and the color is the school colors of the team that currently owns the territory. Click "See past maps" for previous days. If you click on any territory and click "View history" you can see which teams have owned the territory during this season. If you click on a team icon on the history page, you can see the breakdown of that day's moves for the territory and the usernames of the players who made those moves.
Actions, with school icons for the territories we currently have (under Defend) and the territories bordering ours (under Attack). Click on an icon to make your move for the day.

    How does CFB Risk Work?

On turn 1, each team starts with their home territory. It is up to each team to recruit players and coordinate moves. You can choose to defend any territory that your team currently holds or attack any adjacent territory. A "roll" happens each evening at 10 PM central time to calculate which teams have won which territories that turn based on the moves that were made by individual players. The ultimate goal is to conquer as much of the map as possible for your team. There are a number of different ways to do this, such as through recruiting players in sheer numbers or forming alliances with other teams.

    Make sure your move counts!

We've been receiving reports of a lot of players' moves not counting and therefore messing up streaks which negatively impacts our star power. Make sure when you click on a move, that you receive a green box at the top of the screen saying that your move is confirmed! Once this is done, I would recommend taking a screenshot of the webpage that shows that your move has been confirmed just in case it does not count for some odd reason. The mods will reinstate your streak to help your star power if you have evidence you made your move (and in some cases without evidence if you ask nicely).

Warning - Multiple Accounts is Not OK!

DO NOT MAKE MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS! This is a good way for us to get disqualified. The game runners noticed that each of the last several days we had something like 70 accounts that were obviously ALTS. Do not use these, it will get us disqualified. Having family members on the same wifi network is one thing, having 10+ accounts from the same IP address is completely ridiculous. Aggies don't lie, cheat or steal, and if we do we will get DQ'd...

    Today's Orders (Day 37): Attack Texas A&M

For those of you with a short attention span, we will start with the important part...If you aren't on a squad on Discord or Reddit, today's orders are to attack Texas A&M and take back our homeland!! Post "here" or an Aggie hottie when done!

    Daily Rundown - Day 36:

Operation "Reclaim Texas" picks up where it left off with help from Wisconsin and Alabama. However, we were quite unlucky in College Station, TCU, and New Mexico State, but we still have the sips on the run as they get closer and closer to elimination. Bama and Wisconsin have tu surrounded, giving us hope for what comes next. If things go how we want, we will be able to focus more on getting rid of Michigan and reclaiming Texas. Maybe tu's prince charming in Nebraska won't be able to save them after all...

Let's start with a before and after map before diving into what happened yesterday...

    (Day 36 pictured above)

    (Day 37 pictured above)

    Leaderboards:

We are currently sitting at almost 3500 star power, and around 829 players (the most players we've had in a while), which puts us right in 3rd behind both Michigan and Ohio State. If we want to reclaim Texas and keep pushing back against Michigan we need more players, plain and simple. Remember, the 12th man does NOT lose an online poll or an online game. Let's get it Ags!

    Battle of the Day:

Today's "Battle of the Day" was in Waco, with a total of 233 troops deployed between tu, Michigan, and Texas A&M. The Aggies came out on top to take back Baylor with a star power of 686 and a chance to win of 78%. We will do whatever we can to paint Texas maroon!

    RNG of the Day:

Today's RNG of the day is not a specific battle, yet more of a broad spotlight on the RNG impacting not only us, but our allies up north, The Ohio State University. According to the team odds, this round Ohio State lost a whopping 9 battles in which they were favored over 50%, with 3 of those battles being on defense. In other news, RNG is still not giving us the benefit of the doubt either, with us losing College Station to the tea sips in which we were favored with a 79% chance to win.

Wait, didn't we take Baylor (Waco area) last night? Are we to defend it now rather than attack it?

What about attacking Texas A&M (taking back our territory)?

I added a section to the OP about how to join the subreddit. Here is the relevant part for this question:

    • Message the mod team (or just click here). Please include your A&M class year and major, the Reddit or TexAgs username of the Aggie who invited you, or explain how you found out about Aggie CFB Risk.

there will be 50 total days so about 2 weeks left. If we played until everyone was eliminated, it would likely never end. We expect another season relatively soon after this one.

FYI, lets not attack Nebraska. They are technically allies with Michigan and Texas, but they have not been aggressive at all towards us or our other allies. We'd like to keep it that way. So if you decide to go rogue and do your own thing, make sure you attack/defense territories focused on defeating Texas and Michigan.

So Michigan has an equivalent blog to Texags in a sense, the MGOBlogs. https://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/risk-day-14-oh-you%27re-gonna-declare-war-us-let%27s-see-how-works-out-you-aggie

If you like being condescended to, there's plenty more crap where that came from. DO NOT go and post **** over there. Trolling is both unethical and not worth the effort. Usually it just provides bulletin board material for them to work with.

Instead, join up and bring all your friends/social media buddies/anyone else with you, and we can punch em in the mouth the way Ol' Rock, the Good Ag would: with the full fury of the FIGHTIN' TEXAS AGGIE 12TH MAN.

    Now for the daliy update...

    Daily Rundown - Day 37:

Operation "Reclaim Texas" nears closer and closer to success, as Texas A&M continues fighting to paint Texas maroon once again. Like always, we were unlucky in New Mexico, New Mexico State, and Houston, leaving tu and Michigan with a passage into Texas. Although tu is mostly surrounded, some of those territories are being protected by allies. However, Bama and Wisconsin are still providing assistance and standing strong. Whatever happens happens, but at the end of the day, we still plan to protect Texas...

Let's start with a before and after map before diving into what happened yesterday...

    (Day 37 pictured above)

    (Day 38 pictured above)

    Leaderboards:

We are currently sitting at almost 3500 star power, and 814 players, which puts us right in 3rd behind both Michigan and Ohio State. Michigan is still sitting around 1200 players, 400 more players than us! This cannot happen. If we want to reclaim Texas and keep pushing back against Michigan we need more players, plain and simple. Remember, the 12th man does NOT lose an online poll or an online game. Let's get it Ags!

    Battle of the Day:

Today's "Battle of the Day" took place in Austin with a total of 116 troops deployed between tu, Michigan, and Texas A&M. The Aggies won to defend Austin with a star power of 696 and a chance to win of 81%. We will not allow that orange school to retake Austin!

    RNG of the Day:

Today's RNG of the day is again not a specific battle, yet a highlight again of how RNG is impacting those against us. Michigan won 8 territories in which they were favored under 40% which led to a +5.8 in actual territories. More specifically, RNG did not like us in Houston (HTOWN hold it down) as tu won Houston with a 20% chance while we were favored with a 73% chance.

Ideally we need to clean up our own back yard first, but we are having our own issues with RNG. Would be helpful to both of us if we had a better defensive position established. Michigan has a very solid defensive position established so one or both of us piercing that could make Michigan's efforts more challenging.

We do want to continue to stay friendly with Nebraska in my opinion. Don't need to get a 3rd enemy poking us every turn...

We need more than friendship w/ nebraska imo, we need them to turn on michigan. Michigan is going to run away with this at this point and they know it.

The good news is they seemed to have turned their focus to retaking ann arbor, maybe that will give us a chance to push them out of our footprint.

This is a cool map, not sure if everyone is aware of how to find it, but you can go to team odds tab at the top and then pick a team and it shows this map and you can change the days to see a trend over time. Also, below the maps you can sort by where the most players were or by who they attacked by territory, etc.
