Sounds like it's closer to $5.5 or $6 million. They more than doubled his $2.7mm salary. Pretty steep for a head coach that inexperienced and, frankly, unproven.

Holy hell that's a lot of money for a coach with a single 5-7 season to his name. At least we waited until after Sumlin got lucky before we forked over top 10 money.

That is a lot of moralizing! IF writer were offered double and more guaranteed years to hop to, he would.

Emphasizes Tucker being at CU a year and going 5-7. They dont mention that he was a successful DC at UGA, or that he inherited a mess and that most coaches need 2-3 years to get a mess moving in the right direction.

Did Sparty overpay? Sure did. It's like a man shopping for jewelry on Valentine's Day. You are going to get hosed, but you don't have a choice. The big issue is that B1G programs to throw money at coaching staffs, thanks to the FOX, ESPN and BTN deals. The Pac 12 is about to get very nervous, now that schools like Indiana, Northwestern and Vandy have significantly more TV money than any Pac 12 school. Maybe now the Big 10 can be competitive in the Rose Bowl, or at least catch up to the Big 12 in Rose Bowl wins.

Conference of Champions in sports no one cares about.

Colorado not willing to compete financially in athletics is killing them. That's an obvious top 4 PAC destination for players and coaches if the university actually wanted to invest in it.
