7 Underclassmen to the draft

They will obviously still be insanely talented, especially with the recruiting bump from a Natty, but will Orgeron be able to achieve a sustained dynasty like Bama and Clemson?

Hard to get to the top. Even harder to stay there.

Woodward is going to really earn his money on these replacement hires this late in the carousel, IMO.

Further, O will have to contend with Kiffin and now Leach offenses on top of Malzahn's (Chad Morris) and Jimbo's in the West.

I'm sensing O has a decent chance of being Chizik 2.0 in a few years.

Ed O just won a natty because of Joe Brady and Joe Burrow. Simple as that.

It is similar to how Sumlin won 11 games; it was because of Kliff and Johnny, albeit lsu had much more talent on both sides of the ball this year.

Let's see what coach meathead does now that his 1,2, and now 3rd best aspects of the lsu program are gone.

But with a 2020 natty...I'd love for the Ags to win the natty and then be gutted after...because all your coaches are in demand...what an awful problem to have!!!

I dunno. They are losing A LOT of players, especially on offense. Half their OL two deep is graduating or declaring, and most of them are starters. They're losing at least 3 WR's, plus Burrow and Helaire.

They also lose half their starters on defense, with the potential for more juniors to declare. They've got another 1-2 who could potentially declare.

They won't be bad, but they're not going to be nearly as good as this year.

Still the 2nd easiest job in the country. A fool like can stumble into 10-2 on a down year with their advantages. Only Ohio State is easier.

I don't think Ed is anything special, other than recruiting.

Burrow is a freak and that's how they won. Burrow had an almost 80% completion ratio.

Orgeron has the same advantage every coach has ever had at LSU...all the top kids in Louisiana ALL want to play for LSU.
Been that way forever. But he will have to rebuild somewhat after this season.
Brady may be gone...but you know Ensminger learned a lot from him and now has Brady's playbook to work with.
LSU won't win a natty next year or the year after...ala Clemson or Bama.
But Orgeron can recruit with the best and has his state locked up.
Can you imagine if Jimbo had the State of Texas locked up?
Can you imagine if every kid in Texas wanted to play for A&M?

Coach O doesn't have be elite. He just has to recruit like he has always done and find some good assistants to replace Aranda and Brady.
He already has elite talent on the field.

O is a lot smarter and better at what he does than most of you give him credit for. This isn't 10 years ago and he isn't at Ole Miss anymore - he studied under Pete Carroll and spent a lot of time learning how to be a better coach. His tenure at SCw and lsu bear that out.

Even at Alabama and lsu, you don't win championships if you aren't smart. Next year will be a completely different team, but they wont be bottom dwellers by any stretch. He still has Emsinger on offense and will likely bring in somebody good on defense, they will most definitely be a hell of a game next year.

TexAgs - Coaches can't win without talent. Don't judge them until they have 8 years of top 5 recruiting

Also TexAgs - Mack/Orgeron/Riley/etc are terrible coaches. They can only recruit, don't judge them until they win a second title without their top 5 recruiting

Texas is a lot bigger than Louisiana. Jimbo only needs 1/7 of the state locked down to have the same "advantage."

Ensminger may have learned a lot and have the playbook, but I doubt he can make the same adjustments and adapt the passing game to what other teams throw at him the way Brady could have. When it comes to Brady's passing game, Ensminger is going to be more like a script kiddie than a serious threat.

Ensminger also won't have burrow. The passing game tends to work well when you have a guy completing 76%, no matter who runs it.

How do you think OSU is easier ?
They have to recruit mostly out of state for skill people especially.
Their QB is from Georgia. RB from Texas.
WR's are from California/Texas/Arkansas.
They have to recruit nationally. (Haskins from Maryland, J.T. Barrett from Texas,Chase Young from Maryland, Okudah from Texas)

LSU has the easiest recruiting as they have enough in-state talent to fill their roster at every position.
They still cherry pick a little bit from other states.
Their recruiting is lights out when they are winning of course.
