It seems I was correct about the filters.

Clemson has been able to recruit top 3 talent every year and has won 2 of the last 4 titles (over big bad Bama), played in a 3rd + a semi in the other 2 years.

Dabo is the only coach who has been able to show up AND stay at Saban's level of consistency. Jimbo couldn't do it, even Urb couldn't do it.

Dabo is universally heralded by the way he leads his program. The most famous national college football analyst let his twin sons walk on to his program. Gene Stallings coached him at Bama and has spoken very highly of him. Dabo took on a student with Downs Syndrome at Clemson as part of a special program to be a team manager, echoing what Gene would do by having his son John Mark out there when he coached Dabo. Coach Stallings' grandson plays for Clemson as well.

Everything points to him being a genuinely good person making monumental differences in the lives of his players and has also reached the pinnacle of success only 1 other current coach has been able to do year after year.

I'd much rather see Dabo stay at Clemson (where, going forward, we'll only have to face him in the playoffs, if at all) instead of going to Bama (where we would have to face him every damn year) after Saban eventually retires or dies on the job.

burrow was a composite 4* recruit and mr. ohio. he initially signed with OSU, who signs as many 4 and 5 star players as any school in the country.

I don't know how many of y'all went to the Clemson game this year, or if anyone who did happened to catch the postgame call in show afterward (I always like to check those out, I'm a glutton for punishment sometimes I guess.......)
Anyway, listening to him discuss A&M that night he just came across as very smarmy and dismissive. And that's maybe just me listening thru the filter of anger from the total no show that day, but I kinda lost some respect for him that night. He may genuinely be a good dude, but he sure didn't impress me much at that point.

Was still totally pulling for him last night though. Nothing exudes "smarmy and dismissive" like a freaking swamp kitty

Dabo is Gus Malzahn in a lousy conference, his Mayberry routine is tiresome.
Oh and his players are PED professionals.
