Good choice. If I was Smith, I would do the same.

Heard from a source yesterday morning (who talked to EJ Smith) that EJ was leaning towards the Ags, but felt sort of unwanted. He was reading endlessly on the internet and social media about Aggies preferring Zach Evans. Next thing you know, Stanford seems to take over the drivers seat for EJ yesterday afternoon. You can see where the kid is coming from. Probably felt like he was just plan B.
Don't get me wrong, Zach is an incredible talent, but I think people really underestimated EJ, and simply judged these guys based on 247 star ratings. Anyone who has watched EJs film knows that he was a high priority recruit for a reason. The guy has elite balance and vision.
This is why social media mixed with recruiting can be such a problem. A few people out there can't keep their dang mouths shut, and can't resist commenting negative things on the internet. This is where it gets us. Losing recruits to a school that just went 4-8 and had an empty football stadium all season. Just my take based on some of the things I've heard.
I hear what you're saying, but it's not like Stanford just came out of nowhere. They've been recruiting Smith for a long time. If he took the opinions on social media more important than what the coaches were telling him, then that's just immature. Now if the COACHES made him feel like plan B, then I understand, but these kids need to understand it doesn't mean a damn thing what anyone on social media says.nbaker2022 said:

Why would he GAF about what a bunch of random internet people think when making one of the most important decisions of his life?

Im just telling you what I heard from a source that talks to him.
I'm a college student. I know how social media works. Social media has an effect on high school kids. Anyone who thinks it doesn't is flat out wrong.
That is such a terrible take. As if the OL is going to continue to be that bad every year Evans is here, wow. Our OL recruiting these last 2 classes has trended up big time, which are the guys that will be actually blocking for Evans for most of his career here, should he choose A&M.wahoo0185 said:
Why would Evans want to come here with a pitiful OL when he could go anywhere in the country?
