My mom has a cousin Eddie, seriously that's his real name and they call him Cousin Eddie since before the movie came out. I would call him Cousin Eddie (well before I knew about Christmas Vacation). Pretty sure they stole his likeness and gave it to Randy Quaid.

He would literally show up unannounced with his whole family every few years. My aunts would scramble to wrap/find gifts for them to the point they finally just had gifts ready in case he showed up. He had some small acreage he inherited from family, sold it off, and lived in an old RV, I don't think it ran. I only went there once, and they always showed up in some clunger.

I always thought he was cool, my mom's family is real uppity, and very formal. He was always funny and lightened things up.
