The conference's only predicted loss comes in the Texas Bowl as the Aggies play against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. The most lopsided prediction is Florida's 21-point (predicted) win over the Virginia Cavaliers in the Orange Bowl.

If that doesnt serve to provide extra inspiration, I dont know what would. But then again, if Monds passes are thrown to air motivated players count for 2 dead flies

Bowl games mean nada, and it shows. Some schools just don't get up for a meaningless game.

Let's eliminate the bowl games and go to a 16 team playoff.

Unless you're in CFP or one the bigger games Rose, Sugar ect bowl games are 100% meaningless.

Nobody cares anymore, recruits don't even care.
Look at the number of players skipping bowl games, more and more each year.

A&M could win the Texas bowl 75-0 or lose 75-0 and it won't matter one bit.

They are basically scrimmages, spring game like

As much as I want to call you bad names for saying this, I'm afraid you're not wrong. Winning a bowl game doesn't guarantee it will spring board you into the next season. Losing one doesn't automatically set your program back.

However, it can give you insight into the character and leadership of a program. Do the little things well first before you are entrusted with more important things. Playing in a 3rd tier bowl isn't always fun. But neither is weightlifting, academics, film study, nutrition, etc. It's all got to get done correctly before you move on.

How much longer is the bowl system sustainable? Games don't matter. Fans don't care or travel for them. Who is making money? Need to expand to 8 in the playoff and cancel everything else. More TV money. Fans of winners will continue to travel. Fans of average teams can be done watching their average frustrating team. Everybody wins.

The playoff will eventually be expanded.
However, bowls likely are not going anywhere anytime soon.
Even though sagging attendance they still make a ton $.

Wonder the spin when Alabama and/or Georgia lose. Both those teams have a history of not showing up if left out of the championship game (pre-playoff) of playoffs.

in the seven years prior to joining the SEC we went 1-4 in bowls and two of the years didn't make a bowl at all.

Also, ESPN FPI gives us a 62% chance of winning.

The bowl games were started as way to put heads in beds in what is slow period for business travel. Now they are way for ESPN to provide programming in a week when lots of people are off of work.

Now they are a great boondoggle for athletic departments to send everyone on a nice trip and get some good bowl swag. I feel sorry for players who have spend the holidays in places like Detroit, Boise or Shreveport. The good thing for the Aggies is many of players have family in Houston.

This would not be a problem for us, but for schools like Clemson, last year they had a conference championship game, a trip to Dallas and a trip to Bay Area. That gets expensive quickly. I think that is one reason there is resistance to adding a game to the playoffs, especially from the SEC and ACC.

Opened at 4.5, up to 6. On the right side of the movement.

This is a good match-up for us. Okie Lite's weakness is their pass defense. Their strength is running the ball. They are a JV version of Auburn. We set the edge and Mond has an avg game, we win.

Wait. Are we already laying the ground work for why we lost to a Big 12 team?

I hope our guys know this and react with some fire.

An interesting side note on bowl games. Those teams get an extra 15 days to practice. For a lot of those teams, it's an opportunity to start reviewing players and prepping for next year. Especially if there are upper classmen sitting out the bowl for the draft. My son's brother-in-law plays for a school that just missed bowl eligibility and this is what he is disappointed about.

For that to be true, he would have to end it with "despite Mond being the worst QB in the history of NCAA in my opinion."

I think the Auburn comment is well founded. We will likely see a lot of mis-direction from them and they will likely begin the game going against tendency by coming out throwing.

Georgia had better prepare for Baylor's passing game. Unfortunately I don't see Georgia winning if they don't score more than 28 points. I hope I'm wrong.

The Aggie game could easily go either way depending upon the Aggie offense.

You know Baylor averaged like 20 a game in Big 12 play right? Including like 6 overtimes. Georgia's defense will be the toughest they've faced this decade.

You don't see Georgia winning with 28 against a Baylor team that score 21 vs Rice, 23 vs Iowa State, 17 vs WVU, 16 vs TCU in regulation, and 24 vs tu?!?

They will be lucky to score vs Georgia assuming Georgia decides to show up.
