I've only seen those tweets and emails that you guys have seen from some significant boosters on this, but only rumors. While sounds crazy, it would inject needed excitement into the program.

The offense clearly needs some help and creativity, so why not Johnny?

Not much downside considering what he may do with recruiting alone. Aggie. Heisman winner. NFL first round draft pic. He could get in any living room.

Far fetched a bit, but he was at the LSU game and gave that speech before the Georgia game, not to mention him hanging around Fisher so much this past month.

Let's be real. What parent would allow Johnny in their living room to recruit their kid? I loved watching the guy play and would like to better in him, but he is the poster child for wild party animal and what not to do as a college player.

Everyone scoffed at Kliff as the OC at Houston, then look what he did here. He did good things here, then HC at Tech, now HC in the NFL.

The parallels are not exact but close.

Add in those comments he made after South Carolina that his heart is in Aggieland, he sees coaching in his future, etc.

What he said about being the HC in waiting if Fisher moves to AD is a stretch.

Interesting that Andrews compaired Johnny to Deion Sanders being a candidate at FL State.

All those comments could be something. Simpson said he was "a coach on the field" when he played, and could replace Fisher as HC one day.

Not sure if I believe it, but Johnny could at least be QB coach

You have to start somewhere. He coaches under Fisher as an assistant for a few years and helps recruit.

May be fire where there is smoke.

Has anyone else seen anything else about these rumors? Serious question, maybe I just missed it... but so far this thread looks like OP saying "I doubt this is true but I heard this...", everyone else saying "yea, no way, not happening," and OP continuing to show up saying yea but maybe?

Right now it looks like the only source of these rumors is you OP.

Just seems to be a lot of hate/negativity. I know he hasn't done a lot recently to be proud of, but if JM has cleaned himself up and wants to do something to help out, I don't see a reason to be so close minded to it.

If you can't show up to meetings and be responsible as a player how the **** can you ever expect players to follow you and respect your authority as a coach.

johnny needs to get his **** together before he has any position of authority

Johnny would be an amazing position assistant & talent scout. He would be probably one of the worst at recruiting. Let him scout film for juco & high school athletes being looked over due to their HS coaches' nearsightedness.
Aggie Football is only played for 2 quarters, choose wisely.
