As always, SEC will consider the best possible outcome for all potential bowl matchups and determine the best possibility of favorable outcomes for our teams. If the powers that be think that playing TU would not be in our best interests, they'll defer to Miss. State or the like, They won't let us be humiliated by a lesser opponent.

Let's just do it and get it over with already. It's going to happen eventually. Both teams suck and it would probably be a good game. Just get it done!

Any bowl but the Texas Bowl and I'll go

The Big 12 has 7 bowl tie ins with only 6 teams eligible for a bowl. If OU or Baylor gets into the playoff their title game loser goes to the Sugar which means Texas probably ends up in either the Alamo Bowl or the Camping World Bowl.

Interesting take.

Texas fan here. I know both teams are not very good right now and would be a toss up game at best, but why would SEC not allow it? Just curious. Not saying Texas would accept either, but I really don't know. Game would definitely be more interesting if both teams were better.

Because neither administration wants to meet in a meaningless bowl game. A NY6 or playoff game, absolutely. Both have made that known.

How have they made it known? Genuinely curious.

Once again the conference sets the games now. And our admin has said we don't want it. So has Texas admin.

I think with ISU's loss tonight the sips are Alamo Bowl bound. If neither OU or BU make the CFP the sips, as the BDF's #3, would be in the Camping World Bowl against an ACC team. They will not be playing an SEC team in a bowl.

PAC #2 would destroy them in the Alamo Bowl.

The coaches and ADs have publicly stated that they want the game to come back.

Why would the SEC give a rip about who A&M is matched up with? I dont get it. Play Texas and bury the hatchet.

Can't happen. They are the BDF's #3 team which means contractually they'll be in either the Alamo Bowl(against PAC #2-3), dependent on the BDF #1 going to the CFP and #2 to the Sugar Bowl, or the Camping World Bowl(against an ACC team) if the BDF doesn't get in the CFP and OU and BU fill the Sugar and Alamo slots.

the Camping World Bowl in Orlando is lining up a t.u. vs. Notre Dame matchup that TV-wise leads into the playoff semi-finals.

that's where the horns are going to end up regardless of the Big 12 getting 1 or 2 teams in the CFP/NY6.

Yea, I do think we'd come out flat and uninspired, yet again. It'd probably be a closer game, but I think out of shear luck or ref interference, tu would come out on top.

I wouldn't put past the morons that run our athletic department to think it would be good idea to match up with tu in the Texas Bowl to make up for a disappointing end to the season (could have easily ended 1-1 in final two games and made a little showing BR). They would probably think they were doing us fans a favor by keeping the team within driving distance to watch. Meanwhile that d bag program in Austin that's pretty much on life support would find a way to beat us and use that momentum in recruiting and going into next season. 9 times out of 10 we usually come up short with these types dumb ass moves by our Athletic dept.

the "ags & horns in Texas bowl!!!!" predictions will have to wait another year.
