I think 24 dollars is not nearly enough for a chicken wrap.
.....so you think the guy wanting to drive 90 mph on the freeway ISN'T a selfish dickcheese? I'm willing to settle for the guy in the left lane riding someone's ass because 85 in a 75 isn't good enough is the lesser of the two arseholes but to somehow pretend one is some sort of saint while the other is Mussolini is nothing short of extraordinarily dense.WhereItsWarm said:King said:
On the interstate I drive 5-10 mph over the speed limit and stay in the left lane.
If someone is driving faster than me, they can go around. I'm not moving to the slow lane only to have to hit my brakes for the slow cars.
I've pissed a lot of people off over this and I don't care.
Every time I come up behind someone like this on the road I just have to tell myself that the person is either stubborn or stupid, and you can't fix either one.
In Kings case, "I piss people off, and I don't care", makes the case for stubborn. While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, this type of "me first, F everybody else" attitude is characteristic of nearly every Sip fan that I have ever met, including DeLoss Dodds (although that particular bit of stubborn worked out incredibly well for us)
On the other hand, nearly every good Ag I have ever spent time around understands that if you are in the left lane with nobody in front of you, and people behind you who want to drive faster, that they should move over at the first reasonable gap in the lane to their right. It doesn't mean you're weak or that someone is getting the better of you, it just means you're considerate.
I came up behind someone on the highway just like King when my daughter was bleeding profusely from a head wound and I was rushing her to the emergency room, so I'm a little biased towards not blocking the left lane for people who don't abide by your personal definition of "speeding".
If King or the other 21 people who have starred his original post insist on driving this way there is nothing anyone can do to fix stubborn or stupid. but PLEASE PLEASE remove any Texas A&M insignia from your car.
I hope you walk barefooted on some legos and little green army men everytime you do this.King said:

Ever been to Germany? They ticket for that stuff and it works like a champ. They also ticket for passing on the right.rgag12 said:Texas_Aggie_12 said:
You could literally do 5-10 over the speed limit in the slow lane and probably not pass anyone. If you do happen to come up on someone driving the actual speed limit then you could just hit your left hand turn signal, jump in the fast lane, pass the slower car, then hit your right hand turn signal and proceed to get back into the slow lane where most people driving 5-10 over are. It's honestly not as difficult as you're thinking.
That method of driving only works 4 lane TX highway roads where there is hardly any traffic. I don't judge anyone on major interstates and highways in the cities because there is so much traffic you just gotta do what you gotta do. The only exception are the folks weaving in and out of traffic using all the lanes, that isn't safe.
Dude if you want to police other people's actions like that go get a badge and become a real cop. I'm sure they would appreciate the help.AgBandsman said:AggieBand2004 said:Meximan said:Bifferton Bobber Squat said:The speed at which you travel is not an issue. The issue is that the left lane is for passing only. If you are driving in it and not actively passing someone, regardless of speed, you are breaking the law, impeding the flow of traffic and just being an a-hole. Doing an annoying act you know is not right and not caring about how it affects others is the height of petulant childish activity. I want to become a cop just to pull morons like you over. I would set a world record for tickets issued to dumbasses who drive in the left lane when not passing.
As King pointed out, he's passing all the cars on the right going 65-70. Cops don't care if you're in the left lane if you're passing up the cars on your right. I doo this exact same thing, have passed cops dozens of times, and none run me down for being in the left lane.
The problem isn't people going 80 in the left lane and staying there, the problem is people going 60 or 105 in the left. Maybe y'all shouldn't drop 90 in a 75 like jackasses.
It's not your job to regulate the speed of other cars on the road. If someone is behind you in the left lane and wants to pass, it IS your job to get over and let them pass.
The logic on this is not difficult to grasp.
Listen here, BQ, if I'm going above the speed limit in the left lane and some jackass doing 90 behind me has to get around, I'm not moving from the left lane so he can continue his deadly actions unabated.
A lot less people got "offended" back when you could find yourself in a duel.Lateralus Ag said:rgag12 said:Texagtrojan said:King said:

I'm the one that will cut you off and slam on my brakes for pay back.

I used to do this exact thing, my wife always said I was going to get shot doing that. Lo and behold I did it to one guy and he pulled up beside me and drew a gun on me. I was lucky to get away.
Be careful out there
Don't be an ******* and people won't pull a gun on you. Sounds like a reasonable proposition.
If more people assumed other people would punch them in the throat or pull a gun the world would be a more pleasant place.
Think about it for more than 30 seconds.

People that do this should be subject to progressive fines, starting at $1000 and moving up by a 1.5x factor from there for each subsequent infraction.King said:

No. Because the left lane is the passing lane, not a cruising lane. HTH.MaxPower said:.....so you think the guy wanting to drive 90 mph on the freeway ISN'T a selfish dickcheese?
