The details are worse than the headline:

-pending misd. assault/family violence case
-protective order in place (stronger than restraining order, crime to come near the woman)
-allegedly commits crime by violating the protective order
-this time allegedly commits a felony-level assault

He will be starring in the Colorado penal league sometime soon. Sumlin could really pick'em.
