Sumlin had zero to do with recruiting Bradford. Chuck Long was the OC and QB coach who recruited him from start to signing his LOI.

I've read this before on A&M boards and it just isn't correct.

Sumlin did recruit Allen. He then (potentially) played him despite a shoulder injury. He then pissed Allen off so badly that he left for UofH. Allen missed getting drafted. Allen somehow turned all of that into a spot on an NFL roster and some amazing performances.

Credit to Sumlin fo sho.

Do not give Sumlin credit for any of that. If Allen stays at A&M another year and starts (instead of Trevor Knight) he probably builds a resume and the measuarables good enough to get drafted.

The modern era definitely does not date back to 1939 nor should it include Norton and Bryant.

This can't be right, because Mike Sherman isn't on this list, and I have it on no less authority than Texags that he was a better coach than Sumlin
