LSU is lol poor
yes, provided he gets along with the new AD.OldShadeOfBlue said:
Jimbo wanted out of Florida State. Nothing points to him wanting out of A&M. The Woodward relationship was just our foot in the door. He's not going to leave his guaranteed, 75 million dollar, all the support in the world, sleeping giant, everything to gain job just because his buddy left.
I think they actually had the money. They just didn't get the permission to hire him.DrZ said:
Every LSU fan I know, which is a lot, doesn't like coach O and wishes they had Jimbo.
They all feel like it was only money that kept them from getting him the first time.

if you don't think that this exact possible scenario wasn't discussed between Woodward and Jimbo back when Jimbo signed you're nuts.
and ask yourself why was it ok with woodward that Jimbo's contract doesn't have a buyout on his end.
Yeah. LSU has budget issues with the state legislature fairly often. Even though the athletic department is not funded by the state, F. King Alexander, LSU's President loves to curry favor with the current governor by threatening to shutter the football program unless the Tiger faithful to pressure their state legislators to get a budget passed. It's all BS but Alleva was a loyal soldier standing next to Alexander to make those pitches.Goro Majima said:I think they actually had the money. Y'all way over value Jimbo's relationship with Woodward. Here's the reality. Orgeron is only getting fired if he's unsuccessful at LSU and Jimbo is only going to leave A&M if he's unsuccessful at A&M or if the A&M admin causes him headaches. If Jimbo is successful at A&M there's no reason for the A&M admin to cause headaches for him.
That means the only way Jimbo is likely to leave A&M is if he's unsuccessful here and if he's unsuccessful here how likely are you to even want to pay him $7.5 million per year? How likely is LSU to prioritize him? A&M was the place Jimbo landed because of a variety of factors. Money, the school's commitment and investment for success in football and his relationship with Woodward. If those other factors other than Woodward weren't present he wouldn't have left FSU, at least not for our job.
I'd be shocked if Jimbo is both successful here and leaves for LSU. It would defy logic.

To suggest that Jimbo colluded with Woodward to leave FSU only to jump ship again in the name of following his boss is down right broke back mountain type ***** Get bent you ****ing troll.
Jimbo doesn't have any emotional ties to LSU. This was Woodwards alma mater. To try and equate Woodward leaving us for LSU to Jimbo doing the same is a reach.West-0-ag said:hph6203 said:

I somewhat agree, I don't think he goes but here are couple things:
I didn't think SW would leave.
How unsuccessful was Woodward?
If he wasn't unsuccessful why did the brass cause him grief?
If SW leaving wasn't all about money what keeps Jimbo from making a similar decision?
When it comes to Ed O how often does a program jet an AD over night and the intention of retaining a coach hired by the fired AD for the long term? My guess is not many!
But it's stupid to think that Fisher would say "Okay, I'll come to A&M, but if you do leave to LSU, I'll follow you in just a couple years right in the middle of when I'm building something here." No one thinks like that. He came here for the long haul. It's also stupid to equate the buyout to anything more than typical leverage. Fisher had it. We didn't.2thFixinAg said:use your brain instead of being a moronic homer.Mayhaw Jelly said:2thFixinAg said:

it would have come up in initial conversations. jimbo would have asked what are the chances you leave. Woodward undoubtedly said he'd only leave for LSU.
It's not collusion. ( way to jump to conclusions you moronic twit.) It's simply a prospective employee looking out for his own future.
LSU discussion had to be had. what they were. who knows. there are several possibilities.
but you go right ahead and be a defensive little turdbucket.

More accurately is is very good at fixing institutional problems present at LSU for going on 2 decades with an intimate understanding of the Tiger mentality and Tiger way. Let him go fix his alma mater, if you've ever been in some of the school's facilities you'd understand they need him there more than us. Jimbo isn't going anywhere anytime soon at least until this ship is righted and positioned to compete in the West.boxing after dark said:

Seems like he is going to LSU cause they need to make coaching hires and he is good at that...
