Not that you need motivation to play the defending champions, but that should help. I may be wrong here, but I think Jimbo and Dabo usually play each other pretty close.

We also opened as a 13.5 dog to Bama.

I'll save you from the "Germans" posts... This would probably fit better here:

Probably won't stay at 21, but if it does, I'm picking the Ags. Jimbo should have us ready for that game!!

It's pretty funny.

Ags can be a 20 point underdog at Tuscaloosa and everyone is talking about, 'Its Bama, Saban, and on the road.' Unfortunately, looks about right. Gosh, hope we can give them a game.

Ags at Death Valley against Clemson is 'No way, I'm loading up, free money, what a huge slap in the face.'

If only there was some way we could measure Clemson and Alabama against one another. Hmmmm.

Clemson will probably cover if we can't get pressure on Lawrence. Hope I am wrong. I appear to be in minority of folks around here that believes our outcome against them last year has absolutely no impact on how the game will go this year.

Yeah not sure our defense will be up to the task this early in the season. Just too many new starters. Will probably need the offense to keep up and that is a lot to ask for on the road against a top 5 team.

21 seems like solid push.

would be inclined at 21.5

would not like 20.5.

At that spread it becomes when do they let up? Or garbage time td by ags to push.

It's way too early to know. Clemson is going to be good. No doubt. But we could plug some holes and have some surprises and actually be pretty good ourselves. Jimbo is way better than what we have had in the past. I'm not so sure we can count on a huge let down just because we are losing guys.

I am with you. If that is the line come May when I visit Las Vegas, I will put a $100 on that one.

So how will their defense slow our offense?

They lost their entire D-line in the draft.

We have Ausbon, Predator and Davis ready to roll.

I see us hanging for a while.

Interesting perspective.

I think the only way out of this is the "annexation of Puerto Rico."

Are you lost? Don't you have a sip trash board to lament the fact that we don't have room on our schedule for you?

21+ points is the kind of line you give when one team can just overwhelm the other with athleticism, speed, strength, etc. When the other team literally can't keep up. Clemson may be more talented than us but 21 points is not going to happen.
OldShadeOfBlue

Clemson just beat Bama by 21 with a fish QB. 21 points to those guys in Death Valley should be considered a compliment.

Probably has something to do with a 2 point loss last year in a game we had a great chance to win as well as the fact that while Clemson is a great team, they aren't Alabama. Nobody is.

Take your snarky crap back to Tigernet, you're a guest here and last time I checked the only reason you beat us last year was because our kicker missed a 19 yard FG, our backup QB fumbled on the only play he was in on and the refs gifted you a BS touchback call. Most Clemson fans I know will freely admit that they were lucky to get out of Kyle Field with a win and 12 months (and fewer All-Americans) doesn't make you 19 points better.

People scoff at that line because despite what you return at the skill positions your OL and DL is not what it was, and most intelligent football people know where games are won and lost. Also our coach has a pretty good history of keeping things competitive against your coach even when he has the lesser team, I trust him to run the ball against an inexperienced Clemson front, play keep away and shorten the game on the road.

Congrats on your win in the national title game, you won the turnover battle, played good redzone D and used big plays to do something that no one has done to Alabama in 13 years. You also had fewer first downs and only out gained them by 39 total yards despite the final score.

I think Corbin got just enough playing time last year to really build on it this off-season. Hoping he'll have the tools to get it done!

Oof this comes off as really pathetic. You're trying to belittle their title win? They've won 2 over bama in the last 3 years now.

Bama loses guys every year too. The only problem with ClemsonTig's post is that he assumes everyone on here sees the big bama line and says "yeah I expect that." every year half do and the other half post how the line is way too high. Just like this thread with Clemson.

So I don't know what's worse... The national champion going dangerfield wanting respect or the guy who is trying to downplay their title win by referencing total yards

They also have improved tremendously at qb since that game... not really comparable.

Wouldnt be shocking at all if lawrence doesnt play the full game like tua didn't last year.

I think we have a decent chance to win this game. We will be better and Clemson will not be as good. We should have beat them last year if the refs were not cheating for them or we could make a chip shot field goal.

I realize that Lawrence is not the same kid that we played is probably at least twice as good as he was then due to experience but they lost some great linemen and I think it will show in the game.

I think it's a little snarky both ways. Obviously they beat the crap out of Bama when it mattered the most and were undoubtedly the better team that night, but Tig's post seemed to be a bit dismissive of the Ags too. We're going to be a better team in year 2 with Jimbo, without a doubt. 21 seems to be a bit much and I'd take 3 TD's with my money all day long. I doubt we win period, much less go in their house and smack them around. But it's gonna be a lot closer than Vegas thinks.

For the first time in MANY, MANY YEARS, a team NOT name Alabama has the best odds to win the Natty.

One other thing, Jimbo is a good coach. I'll give him that. But those of you who think he brought equal or less talented teams to play Clemson in Death Valley may want to go back and look at what he had. Only 1 year, 2017, would I say that Jimbo didn't have the more talented team. His FSU teams in 2011, 2013, and 2015 had plenty of talent. The 2013 team may have been the most talented visiting team to ever play at Clemson.
