That was 7 years ago. Let it go.

We're Aggies, we don't let anything go. Ever.

I am glad to see a league that expects players to meet certain conditions rather than the NFL that allows thugs to play.
How is Johnny a thug?
What does Johnny have to do with the NFL?

How'd you not get a permaban after your brutal crushing of Lat during our bowl game against NC State?

Did we forget that the McMahon said. "If you have any sort of criminal record or commit a crime, you aren't playing in this league... Even if you have a DUI, you will not play in the XFL."

I would love to see Johnny play for San Antonio of the AAF. We already have maroon.

Johnny will be the next Al Bundy if he continues to try to play football. What ever changes that have occurred between his ears since college prevents him from playing football.

His best hope in life is to be able to live a normal life otherwise his world may consume him.

Alouettes general manager Kavis Reed told reporters that Montreal would not have released Manziel if the CFL did not mandate the move.

"No, sir. Mr. Manziel's performance on the field showed that he had a very good upside, but Mr. Manziel violated the terms and we all understood those terms and we have to be compliant with them," Reed said.

Certainly doesn't sound like substance abuse, if they were working hard to try and keep him on the team.

At least Manziel drama threads seem to have temporarily replaced the "longing for tu" ones!

Johnny was the second team QB on the worst team in the league.

He's a total embarrassment to A&M. Great talent totally wasted. Low life. You reap what you sow. Good riddance.

This is a very ignorant thing to say. He has been on an upward trend the past couple of years. You have no idea what happened today. Whatever the infraction was, it was not bad enough for his team to want to let him go. That, we do know.

Note to self: Whenever the post is pure stupid, check for the absence of an Ag Tag.

He is banned from the entire CFL. What? Makes me think he was bound to not talking to other football opportunities outside the CFL but he did anyway. Johnny, Johnny, c'mom Ag

If JFF was a sip, you would be singing a different tune.

Dude flopped out of the NFL and the CFL. How many more chances will he flush down the toilet before Aggies stop defending him?

Any meaningful football career JFF was hoping for is now gone. Guess he can make a good living selling merch and going on the autograph circuit.

I have to believe Johnny and his agent cooked up a scheme to get him out of his CFL contract.

Crikey, I was kidding about the ploy to get out Cleveland, but some of you 'tards actually think this was a plan to get out of the CFL. Y'all are dumb

Why would he intentionally get out of the CFL? To join the AAFL to make less money in a league that nearly went bankrupt after Week 1 and will probably be gone in 2 years or XFL which probably won't be far behind? Doesn't make much sense.

You guys think maybe he's doing this because it's the right time for him to finally entertain MLB offers? I've always said that I could see him as a shortstop or 2nd basemen, possibly a left fielder or 1st baseman, but could also see him pitching or playing 3rd.

I've never walked a day in his shoes... but this is very disappointing.

I've never walked in his shoes either but myself and probably a lot of people would kill to have 1/4 as many chances at success as he had. I liked watching him play Aggie football but it turns out he's just another **** up. He's had most of his life handed to him on a silver platter and all he had to do was put out a little effort....and not **** up. That's it. Not **** up. I've been not ****ing up for almost 40 years. You can do it Johnny. You just have to understand what it's like to need or want something.

Today's thing isn't really a thing. He was a bum before today.

Not **** up. That's it. All you gotta do.

Any experts care to share what exactly he did so I can make a hasty judgement myself?

Except he was the starter and most likely going to be the starter this year. Plus they weren't the worst team but they were 2nd worst.

I think you may be surprised. San Antonio needs a QB and Johnny improved dramatically from his first game to his last last season.

I could see them taking the chance. At the very least it would improve there marketing and attendance of their games. Plus it would help television viewership.

It's crazy how much near instantaneous fame can destroy people. I don't care who you are, no one could have handled going from relative unknown to the most famous athlete in the country in under a month. It severely messed with his head and he never has recovered from it.
