The big thing is that NFL teams have other viable options at QB. If Johnny was the only individual that was playing that position then he might accidentally have a shot. But as it is right now there are better options out there with no drama and still want to compete at a high level , along with putting the work in to do so. That alone guarantees Johnny has no shot at ever coming back at any level. Not even as a backup.

Johnny is a lot less public the last couple of years. We don't know what he is or isn't giving in terms of effort.

Clearly he still needed the regimented structure that comes with college ball. In fact, he excelled in an environment where his days were decided for him.
Unfortunately I think based on his family history, worldview and neurochemical makeup Johnny's outcome AFTER college was an inevitable certainty.
He's the greatest, if not the most high profile, athlete in A&M's history and we all lament his downfall. But he's not a bad person.
