Teams don't get paid more or less for the bowl game for a win. Both teams get the same payout for the game. Do you have any more Bowl wisdom you want to share?

Teams get paid for extra appearances.

The CFP final is an extra appearance. An all SEC final is 2 extra for the conference.

Wrong. There are no additional payments for participation in the final championship game. I am referring to the monies allocated by TV deal between ESPN and the CFP. Now the conferences who receive all of the revenue usually issue additional monies as reimbursements for expenses to the participating teams but that is a conference decision. It's not in the contract.

I want to see the SEC win all their bowl games, particularly against the Big XII.

However, a certain number of folks on the board seem to want to ignore the results when they don't go the way of the SEC. I don't think you can do that.

The bowls are set up to try and match schools who finished approximately in the same position within their respective conferences. This allows the conferences to be compared from top to bottom. I don't think that you can ignore or trivialize the results because they don't come out the way you want them to.

I believe that the "best conference" title should go to the best conference from top to bottom, not just the conference that has its best team win the national championship. Using that criteria, the Vandy loss to Baylor is a point for the Big XII while the Tide beating the Sooners is a point for the SEC.

Not sure why are you peeps insist on keeping score of bowl matchups. This is bowl season, not a good indicator of how good a team is or how bad a team is.

Now if these were playoff matchups, one and done thing, then yes you would see a better indicator .

Have you watched any of the Redbox Bowl between Oregon and Sparty? Mich State has had a horrible game but is still on one point behind with a minute and change left. What's the score you ask? 7-6. OREGON only scored 7 points! Sparty has the ball but no TOs.

I just never thought I would see an Oregon offense put up barely 200 yards and 7 points in a game.

Cristobal makes some dumb decisions in game. The fake FG / Punt call when you have a supposed 1st round pick at QB was a total WTF today. Stanford earlier this year. Bowl game last year.

That's all fine and true. But let's not pretend that if the score was reversed that we wouldn't use the Liberty Bowl result as more proof that the SEC is superior to the Big 12. It's what every conference does

Correct, other than the playoff games. So many bowls now and so many underachieving and undeserving teams in them. Add a four or five week layoff and you get some strange things happening. I suspect more than a few teams, or many on those teams, looks at it as a vacation and not another game.
