Nick Saban. He only wins b/c he recruits the best players in the world.

Pelini brothers
Considering Saban and other coaches have done this it isn't high level.Geriatric Punk said:That pause after the initial question is all too telling. I almost expected it to follow with, "some."jonj101 said:

Thank you. It has very little to do with success, in fact, some would argue the converse (i.e. "nice guys finish last"). If you're gonna use the term correctly, then it's more appropriate for guys who sold their soul for success, so guys like Briles, Urban, etc would top the charts.SA-AG72 said:

By definition, the answer is Art Briles.

The Spring after Weiss left KU, they had <30 scholarship players of the 85 allowed.....they still have not gotten the full 85 signed.Traveler said:
It has got to be Charlie Weiss.
Think that dude is still drawing a paycheck from Kansas.

Houston Nutt should be pretty high on the list.
A&M completed a $500 MM stadium renovation under Sumlin. Let's not pretend some darn good things didn't happen in the KDS era.dixichkn said:I dare say you're damn near alone in that opinionW said:

Holtz took 5 different programs to bowl games. Won a national championship. One of the legends of the past 40 years.ashley said:
As far as being disliked by his players, coaches, secretaries, and the people who knew him well it's easily Todd Graham. Second is probably Lou Holtz.
Anyone seriously answering Kevin Sumlin has either never paid attention to College Football outside of A&M or is just being an ass. The guy had a ceiling as a coach, and I'm glad we have Jimbo Fisher, but he didn't wreck our program. He recruited well, and Fisher was able to take over a talented roster. He never finished with a losing season here despite playing in the toughest conference in college football.W said:A&M completed a $500 MM stadium renovation under Sumlin. now his last year was bad. Won't argue with that. But 2012 to 2016 is among the best 5-year stretch in program history on numerous levels
seriously. We fired Kevin Sumlin because we got tired of mid-pack finishes and 8 win seasons. If you are going to be mad about Sumlin and inconsistency, then he probably trails Malzhahn on that metric (who is even more inconsistent with big wins and huge losses).W said:A&M completed a $500 MM stadium renovation under Sumlin. Doesn't really fit this criteria.FriscoKid said:
