How long do you want to ignore this user?
I bought 3 tickets on Stubhub and realized I couldn't use them, so I transferred them via email to someone else. When Stubhub generated the email, it said "print these tickets and take them to the gate." However, when you open the pdf file, it says these are mobile tickets only. I called Stubhub, and they said the tickets are in fact mobile, and the email instructions were wrong. If you print them, the QR code will distort. So strike 1, Stubhub.

Next, the person I sent them to also has a Stubhub account. For extra security, he wants them to appear in his stubhub account. I can understand that. So, I called Stubhub again, and they put me on hold to figure out why I can't send them directly to his account. After 10 minutes, they said "it's because Stubhub is not integrated with Texas A&M, so tickets can't be transferred from one account to another." Apparently, that can only be done if a financial transaction occurs. How convenient. Strike 2.

Finally, in order to figure this stuff out, I had to Google Stubhub's customer service line, because after paying $50 in fees for 3 tickets, they can't seem to put their customer service number on their webpage. By the way, it's 866.788.2482. Strike 3, Stubhub.

Oh, and the A&M athletic department can basically - well, I'm not gonna say what they can do - for dumping Flashseats. We may have the most valuable football team in the country, but we conduct business like a 4th world post-apocalyptic junkyard sometimes.

Are you transferring tickets to a friend or selling tickets via Stubhub? You seem to be describing two different things.

If you are transferring to someone, there is no need to involve Stubhub -- you just email them the tickets.

If you are selling on Stubhub, there is no need to transfer them to the buyer -- you just enter the barcodes.

People seem to be confused on the whole concept -- Stubhub is a secondary marketplace. Flash Seats is a primary platform for venue access as well as as secondary marketplace.

I did a transfer (without payment) of a Clemson ticket and it worked fine.

But there is also a note when doing this that says the receiving party cannot transfer them. That my be your problem.

When transferring to a friend, can't you just text a screenshot instead of going through the whole process?

I downloaded mine to my Apple Wallet and just transferred them to the Apple Wallet of the guy I sold them too. Sure I there was risk to him that I could try to sell them again, but we both acknowledged that and trusted each other. I guess it helped that we both had Ag tags and each others' names. '

I did call TMF to complain about dropping flash seats. I'm sure they put it in their special consideration file...

When I originally bought the tickets, Stubhub charged me about $44 in fees. I have re-listed them, and when they sell, Stubhub will charge me another $27. Plus the new owner will pay about $44 in fees. For a single transaction, if we add the fees for the seller and the buyer together, it will equal about 50% of the purchase price.

Look, I understand that Stubhub is a secondary market. I've bought tickets all over the place - Razorgator, ticketmaster, flashseats, ebay...you name it.

My problem is that Texas A&M jacked with a perfectly functional system and is now affiliated in some way I don't understand with legalized scalpers...and they can't even formalize the rake-off enough to make it so I can move my property from one user to another.

About the only thing that would make less sense than this would be owning season tickets...which I did for 9 years. FWIW, TMF priority points are worth about as much as Facebook likes.

That's good for you. But again, we're using "security" to justify these mobile tickets, but in the end we're right back in ca. 2005, when people with paper tickets would get turned away at the gate because their barcodes had already been scanned.

The real motive isn't security; the real motive is to make as much money as possible with as little customer care as possible. Texas A&M and Stubhub basically want to run the secondary market like a downtown parking lot - get their pound of flesh and never lift a finger.

flash seats is the bomb, everything else is transferring money from Aggies pockets to non Aggies pockets and decision makers should be fired.

We have a great product on the field and the season tickets will sell out on their own. 12MF has screwed up yet again.

The fees you described would have been charged by Flash Seats as well if you bought tickets on their marketplace and then re-sold them.

But I won't argue that the move wasn't about money.

But when we're coming in at #1 in athletic department revenue, building shiny new stadiums and hiring $75million coaches -- are we really going to turn around and chastise the TMF for trying to make more money?

Nope - they can do whatever they want. And I can post whatever I want (well, sort of).

I transferred somebody tickets and now they can't use them. In the process of figuring out how they can transfer them back to me if they don't have a 12th Man Foundation account.

Of course it's a cluster ****, what else would you expect from TMF.

NO. That's not how it works. They stay in your Apple Wallet (which seems stupid), but your bar-codes become disabled, so they won't work at the gate and won't transfer to anyone else. The guy you sent them to receives a new (active) bar code. I check that exact thing out in person at the gate.

You don't need a 12th Man account to receive them. The recipient just needs to set up a Stub Hub account to download them electronically to their device.

I know that. I am the 12th Man account holder and transferred them to this person. Now I am trying to figure out if and how they can send them back to me because they cant go.

This is the reason I had to use Apple Wallet. Once they are transferred from TMF account once, they can't be transferred via TMF account again. The person that you sent them to can download them to Apple Wallet and send them to your Apple Wallet, then you can do what you want with them. Or they could download the PDF's and email them to you I guess.

No one is asking what a secondary marketplace is or why they exist. The issues are with ease of use.

This was not even on the problem radar 12yrs ago. Technology and the internet only causes problems, just the current "fad"; soon to be outdated and disappear into history.

I have been totally frustrated with Stub Hub and 12M over the many pages of instructions, some of which are not clear. Do not like!!! Flahseats was easy and card entry a breeze. 12M needs to figure things out before making big changes. Is it possible for 12M to at some point create its own ticket exchange?

Be careful what you ask for. I can't even imagine how terrible that would be.

Question: Does anyone know if you select the screenshot option for the transfer of tickets from StubHub if the tickets will work at the gate? The seller had issues sending through Apple Wallet and is now sending through the screen shot option (not actual screenshot from their phone. They look like normal tickets, but the receiver will likely have to either pull them up from the account or screenshot them themselves to show at the gate.)

Any ideas?

So what's the deal with Seat Geek? It seems to be the only ticket selling option on the TM app now.

I bout tickets on StubHub, and they transferred then to my TM app, and I put them in my Apple Wallet.

Will that will work going forward? What's the deal with Seat Geek?

This year the 12th Man Foundation switched to SeatGeek as the official fan-to-fan ticket marketplace in lieu of StubHub
