Their SBN site has some serious content along with their Podcast. Basically think if TexAgs had gone under but Liucci had kept going.

Ha. Maybe. Still. Seems very mediocre to me.

We should be vetting candidates today, too, in the likely event that he doesn't come here.

We're losing out big time if this doesn't work out. Apparently Miss State is interviewing Pruitt today.

There's a part of me that finds it kind of cool that the last time we won a national championship was when Raiders of the Lost Ark takes place.

But that's just because Indiana Jones is such a BAMF.
Racing is life. Anything before or after is just waiting.

Well, for starters, they lost their starting QB in the first game.
They also played three CFP contenders (Bama, Clemson, Miami) and lost all three.
It has also been mentioned that in addition to the QB, they have had a rash of injuries to other players.
I also think the ACC overall is much better this year than normal years as in several marginal teams are actually half way decent this year.

Having not really followed FSU though, I'm not sure what their assistant coach situation is like.
Based on what I've read around here, one of his beefs has been with the AD not providing funds to keep good coaches (he lost Pruitt as DC after the MNC year). However, there have also been things thrown around here where some have said FSU wants him to make some staff changes and he is resisting which may be driving his move from there.

So, who knows???

It's probably just a combination of injuries, harder schedule, and maybe some less than stellar coaching when it came to dealing with the first two.

His star sophomore QB Deondre Francois got injured in the 1st game against Alabama. Out for the season. They had to go to their true freshman backup James Blackman who was just not ready for that role. For every Jalen Hurts or, Jake Fromm there is a huge amount of true freshman QB's that haven't adjusted to the elevated speed of play. He's been bad for the most part while still showing signs of being a future star. Sound familiar? Jimbo has done a good job of putting him in the best positions to excel. Unfortunately it doesn't always work.

They have steadily lost 13 players to injury for the year. Including 5 offensive linemen. That doesn't help your young QB. They've also lost 5 players on defense. Add that with losing a few close games early. They also had a portion of their early schedule effected by Hurricane Irma. They missed 2 games in a row. That's 3 weeks of practice before a live game. On some of those days, they weren't able to practice (at least in a normal way) at all. Then the last second loss to Miami. The wind was simply taken out of their sails.

That's not a good combination of things to happen while going up against the best ACC in it's history. This was not one of those years where you could lose that much and still forge a double digit win season. If you look at their schedule, most of the teams they played had the better QB. This would include Lamar Jackson, John Wofford, Kelly Bryant, Eric Dungey, Mike Rozier, Jalen Hurts (Francois was injured early), Anthony Brown, and Ryan Finley. That's a tall order when your matching those experienced players with a guy who is learning the position. If FSU had one of those guys they probably would have competed with Clemson for an ACC title birth despite the other personnel losses. That's just to give you a little bit of perspective. Still they have a chance to become bowl eligible.

What an odd season. These FSU fans calling for assistant firings etc. are not very realistic. Not to mention spoiled beyond belief.
