Florida would be stupid not to hire Scott Frost ASAP. Scott Frost is going to be the next Saban at the right school.

So Mullen hasn't won anything big while at Miss State but it's ok because they were bad before.
SMU just as bad before Morris but he sucks because he hasn't won anything big?

Why is he a home run hire that we are missing out on? Based on all the coaching metrics on this board why does Mullen get a pass and is so much more of a great coach?
That's a good question and despite what people say our "doormat" is a top 15 paying job and if Mullen stays it will be a top 10 paying job. He was finally allowed to hire a top notch DC in Grantham under Cohen which is something Stricklin wouldn't do. He has a top 15 recruiting class for 2018 with no pressure. He's won half his games against you with 3* recruits not from Texas while Sumlin has had top 10 classes with Texas 4 & 5 star recruits and hasn't done anything with them. Who is the better coach that does more with less? Amazing how a qb that had one other offer from MTSU has come in and run through those top 10 A&M recruiting classes.HSEAG13 said:
Would Mullen leave with the team he has for next year? Upper classmen and a stud qb? For a dog **** Florida team

Idiot. Let Morris post a record like that as HC playing and recruiting against alagotdamnbama, lsu, auburn, us, and the sec east FOR 7 YEARS IN A ROW, and you might, might begin to build a comparison.
Quit pissing on peoples leg with this Morris trash. It's n disgraceful.
And we lost to South Alabama last year and still beat you.Bottlehead90 said:

No more disgraceful than your absolute and rather irrational hate for the guy, not to mention your complete inability to admit that Morris has done what pretty much nobody has been able to at SMU for 3+ decades, and that he has a solid resume.
We get it, you think anybody that was ever associated with A&M at some point should automatically be disqualified. Doesnt matter how ignorant or silly that mentality is, you keep letting the board know at every chance.
It's f'n disgraceful.
I have no idea what he could have done with them but we have 4* dual threat Keytaon Thompson on the roster and 4* dual threat Jalen Mayden out of Sachse, TX committed in the 2018 class so we'll see what he does with them.Lateralus Ag said:MSU/SECALUM said:That's a good question and despite what people say our "doormat" is a top 15 paying job and if Mullen stays it will be a top 10 paying job. To be fair, you're not comparing apples to apples. Y'all have a real football coach. We have a guy that gets paid to be a football coach.
And regardless of how many people try to say otherwise, Mullen has always gotten more out of "lesser" players than Sumlin has gotten out of highly recruited athletes. What would Mullen have been able to do with Kyle Allen? Or Kenny Hill? Or even the smurf?
He's a good coach but would just be a bad fit, on a gator board I posted that I didn't want him and got almost 60 forms of agree and three disagrees.Phoenix1 said:oragator said:

Mullen has a very solid resume at a backwater joke of a school in a dirt poor state. He's like Mike Leach without the odd personality profile.
What about Charlie Strong? He seems like he would be a good fit. He's been successful every where but Texas and the same goes for Manny Diaz. Either one did well in Texas and both were defensive coaches so it may be that Texas kids just can't play defense. Strong is having a good year and Diaz returned to State for a year and our defense looked better than it did with Geoff Collins then Diaz went on to Miami. Both seem to be strong recruiters and they get Florida kids.oragator said:He's a good coach but would just be a bad fit, on a gator board I posted that I didn't want him and got almost 60 forms of agree and three disagrees.Phoenix1 said:oragator said:

He was Meyer's offensive coordinator and his offense was never viewed well by the fans, he took a beating. Behind the scenes he was allegedly bad enough and left on bad enough terms that Foley wouldn't even consider him for the last 2 openings.
He and his wife have taken some shots at the program since he left, and he has the worst record in ranked matchups in history.

He is viewed as low risk, medium reward. If we are going to start over, most fans want Frost, Taggart, Norvelle...someone young, with energy, exciting offense. Preferably someone who gets the south/Florida and can relate to fans.
It's not in Texas, everything is bigger and better in Texas what kind of troll are you?Phoenix1 said:Lungblood said:

I've never been to Starkville, but can you please tell me 1 category where it is a downgrade from the Babylonian Gardens of Bryan/College Station?
Florida folks still think highly of Strong, but no chance we would take someone who has failed at another high profile job, even though most agree he would do better at UF than he did at UT. Will never be Diaz for a variety of reasons, mainly he's a defensive guy with no head coaching experience. Florida wants offense, big offense, and a proven commodity,MSU/SECALUM said:What about Charlie Strong? He seems like he would be a good fit. Don't you think Frost would be a better fit at Nebraska where he played?trm94 said:
