My read is bayside thinks people who pushed Sumlin and his extension want Morris.

I'm pretty sure when Sumlin is fired, those that pushed for him and worse, the ridiculous extension are so toxic that whoever they want (Morris) will be discarded out of hand.

I have heard several names (never Morris). Too many to be confident about anyone.

Kelly is someone i want...just makes best sense. But i haven't heard a pluraty chanting his name to the exclusion of all others. I have heard him a bit though..

The only reason to hire Morris is because he "gets" A&M. He's a less proven version of Sumlin. I will throw up if we fire Sumlin only to make that bone-headed hire.

Remember when people here wanted us to hire Fedora?

Quite the contrary, the reason I say Morris is because so many of the boosters in different groups really like him. He may not be their favorite but he's one they can all get behind.

The problem for the boosters is that none of them realiy know Morris. Generally a few boosters have a guy they push with influence. Morris is just kind of his own guy and none of the boosters have a feel for him.

Who knows, maybe that's a plus.

Kelly wins lots of football games. Not a good fit for our program.

Maybe 20 years ago. Buzbee is a lawyer. JW is a fund manager. Mayes is a communications exec. There are many others in many different fields.

for UF, yes. For us, probably not. If I were him, I'd get 6-7 mill per year from MSU and hang out and go 8-5 for the rest of my life.

Tragic, and that's why Florida pulled the trigger this early. Get a good jump on Kelly, I'm sure if this is true---some behind the scenes already going on prior to firing.

Kelly won at a time his scheme was new. It's outdated now.

Firing during season and getting the best available coach is what makes sense.

#1 reason we'll never do it, because our decision makers are stupid and don't care about winning.

I have gone back and forth on Sumlin so many times. I wanted to think if he could get to 9 wins this season with a young team he'd deserve another year. But watching him leave a clearly struggling Mond in two games now when there's better options that could win you the games on the bench, you can't help but think he's coaching himself out of the job.

Since 2012 (since Kingsburry, really) there are no words to describe how terrible our QB position has been. And it all seems to come down to playing the wrong guy. Seeing Starkle go out there last night and almost triple Mond's output in half the throws just blew my mind. You started him game one and looked like a top 10 team until you put Mond in the game. Then you were forced to choose another option early to injury and you put in a kid who up 34 couldn't complete 20% of his passes to close it out.

Last night I just could not believe how long we were willing to stick with Mond who couldn't even hit behind the line dump off passes. I thought maybe it's bc Starkle and Hubenak were not ready. But when I saw Starkle come in late due to injury after the game was already decided, start shaky, but ultimately look like twice the passer Mond is, it made up my mind that Sumlin doesn't know what the **** he's doing. And he's willing to do the same thing over and over until his ship sinks.
