First, I don't hate Sumlin.
But, I got the idea they knew some time ago based on that first tweet by that woman reporter when she said Charlene had told her the stalker was the same guy who sent the letter.

Didn't the university also say some time ago that the sender had been identified? Like fall of 2017. But that was all that was said.
