It's because sumlin took an NFL OL, several first round draft picks, a heisman trophy winner, a string of strong recruiting classes and all the facilities in the whole wide world and all we got is.....8-5. What's there to talk about? That it's going to be different this time? We've already talked about that the last 10-15 years.

I've just gotten very bored with TexAgs. Maybe I'll check more in-season if I find that there's something actually worthwhile in the Zoo, but based on past experience that sort of informed post will be rare.

I used to pay for premium when I was in college and couldn't really afford it (go figure), but now that I can, I just don't care enough to justify paying for it. I've paid very little attention to recruiting this year which is the reason I had it in the first place.

I kind of like the GoT thread, and the Entertainment board.

1 word...offseason. kids out for summer, vacations, men tallying up the brownie points with their wives so they can be worthless on Saturdays.

Wait until game week and traffic will be back to normal.

I think it's a combination of:

1. 3 years in a row of 5+-0 starts, including last years top 4 in CFP and every year the wheels falling off. After 3 years in a row of watching spectacular implosion, it's impossible to get amped up for a 4th helping of the same. So beaten up as a fan base that literally we have decided our wives and kids are more important than Aggie football, and for real this time.
2. Politics and national identity are taking a bigger share of our collective attention span.

Also it's not as Wild West as it used to be in here. Back in the day you could expect hilarity to ensue at any time. Now everyone gets banned for any small thing

Politics is way more exciting...and it's not even close.

Add a lame duck coach especially if we lose to UCLA.

Compound that with tu reloading and poised to win their conference...shiz is looking bleak.

We have completely wet the bed again (8-5 x3) and I get the sentiment most Ags aren't excited about riding in that rodeo again.

I've never wanted to fast forward through a season more than this one.

5 - 5 x3 if you eliminate the high school teams we played.

This is how I feel. Plus, I've stood behind our teams since the 70's and after three 8-5s I'm better at reminding myself how foolish it is to get so jacked up about something that I have no control over, and almost always disappoints. Sure, we usually whip up on the little schools, but we lose to far too many schools that don't have anywhere near our resources (the Missiissippi schools and Kansas St to name 3 from last year). I feel like Sumlin has allowed the 11-2, Swaggercopter, WRTS, the $450 million in stadium improvements, the move to the SEC, and all the momentum we had in our program, to slip away without taking advantage of it...

Kevin Sumlin and the 3 consecutive swoons have taken most of the offseason anticipation away. With the preseason picks staying at 8-5 if we are lucky, why get hyped at this point. That nosedive last November still hasnt been really identified and there certainly are many folks reassuring us that it's not happening again. I now have little faith in Sumlin knowing what to do.

Why wouldn't anyone want to pay for echo echo echo???

Because staph increased the moderation policy ten fold. The zoo use to be one of the funniest places on the internet and now it is unrecognizable with many of the original poster leaving.

The golden years were 99-2012.

This. So much of this. We've been good 3 or 4 seasons out of the last 17. The edginess that texags used to allow made it a fun place to be. Not so much now.

This. There's the "ooh, we got Alabama's old strength coach" and the "oh, the team is just so much closer this year" bs that we hear every off season from the Aggie media.

Here's my take - quit posting fluff (Aggie media) about how the team has changed. Sumlin is who he is - a mediocre CEO and a mediocre game day coach, good for generally exceeding expectations in the 1st game of the season and severely missing expectations after about game 4 or 5. Goes right along with Texas A&M Football since '98 sans 2012.

Let's prove it on the field. Results are all that matters. Everything else is crap.

I'm sure staff can either debunk or prove this assumption with stats. Trying to hold a poll over it is pointless when we have access to the raw usage statistics.

I have always been a bit of a contrarian so if traffic is down, must mean we will have a surprisingly good season.

I am excited for football to start, but I have come to expect disappointment. It will be what it will be and kind of tired of all the sunshine pumping over the years about how this year will be different. We are a program with all the tools, but avg results. I will enjoy watching football and expect to get to some ****ty bowl. If we do better...great.

I still come here out of habit.

This place will be crawling if we beat UCLA.

I have to admit I am a bit numb starting this year. I am kind of afraid to hope for better than mediocre, and most of the media is indicating it would be right to temper expectations and wait for 2018, presuming we don't submarine our progress and 2 solid looking classes with a coaching change unless it is really justified and REALLY handled well.
