Put it this way. The programs in the B1G and the SEC have positive cash flows, after expenses, of over $10 Million annually, some are over $20 Million. Texas is barely breaking even, and has lost money 2 out of the last 3 years.

For being a self-described financial guru, you really don't know what you're talking about.

University of Texas AD

FY 2012-13 Revenue: $165.7 million Expenses $146.8 million Left over: $18.9 million
LINK

FY 2013-14 Revenue $161 million Expenses $163.8 million Deficit of $2.8 million (first deficit since 1999-2000, $60 million in cash reserves to easily cover)
LINK

FY 2014-15 Revenue $183.5 million Expenses $183 million Excess of $500,000
LINK

FYI 2015-16 Revenue $183.5 million Expenses $173.2 million Excess of $9.8 million

Okay, I'm not a financial guru...but isn't 'sip calling out a poster over $500,001? That's pretty one night's bar tab for Augie Garrido.

No, I'm being critical because he falsely stated that UT Austin has run an athletics deficit for two of the past three years and was just barely paying the bills.

He also held up Big 10 and SEC "profits" of $10 million-$20 million as being the gold standard that Big Dumpster Fire Texas cannot reach... when they have done just that during the past four fiscal years.

You're a good one to ask. Why have you been able to be so terrible at football for such a long time? It's an honest question. Try an honest answer and not some lame jr high excuse. Thanks.
Charlie Strong didn't really know what he was doing.

But I must say, that's an interesting way of couching a question, coming from a football program that hasn't won a national championship since Hitler was running roughshod through Europe.

E peen arguments have never made sense to me.

Here. I'll help yall out.

Both football programs suck to me. Why? Because my personal standard is consistent 10 win seasons and competing for Conference championship. Which also means sometimes being in contention for National championship.

Arguing over money at either school is an absolutely pointless endeavor because both schools are worth billions. Newsflash: Neither school nor AD is going to go broke. They only way they will is if every other school in the country does first.

So to all Chest thumpers get over your "i'm better than you BS".

Who hired Charlie Strong? How culpable is the rest of the football program during the Skrong years?

What about Mack Brown's nose dive? What happened there? 100% his fault or are there holistic systems issues that are not being recognized or addressed? Is there a pervasive arrogance or lack self awareness? Seems you guys have been self imploding with nowhere to point the finger but in the mirror.

(Caveat: A&M has both system and head coaching issues, for years, not denying that - record proves it)

In the year you "made" $500,000, did that include Mack brown's annual salary of over $1 million? Remember who the fugg I am when you answer.

No one is even in the same galaxy for doing less with more with UT.
Unfathomable how bad they are in managing the money they take in and getting ROI on it.
I have no idea what their ROI is and whether it is good or bad. I assume your comment is strictly equating ROI with wins per dollar in football, but not sure where the money goes and what they do with it.

The numbers are fungible. See page 20 (5 year operations) and read firsthand versus USA Today. And pay attention to the footnotes.

all that money and they go 5-7 repeatedly and still can't money whip coaches to coach there.

I guess the top brass knows they don't need to win to keep making money (which sadly applies to us as well).

It is truly fascinating indeed just how long t.u. has been able to suck so much ass at football for so long despite the massive gravitational pull of unmatched resources AND being in the weakest conference to boot. Mind boggling. Hope it lasts forever.

Can you define "So Long ago". The reason I'm asking is that eight years ago Texas played for a MNC. 12 years ago they won a MNC.

Now, what exactly is so long ago, and how would you fit schools like A&M and Oklahoma into that narrative?

I guess you are the guy who was friends or roommates with Bill Cunningham's son at A&M? What was his name... Mark?

We can't even have meaningful dialogue with you people because your reading comprehension skills are on a Vince Young level. I give up.

I was actually being general because they stink at every reasonable measure based on their income over the last few years. Mediocre at best revenue programs, no higher than 9th in the directors cup the last few years, and even with their budget they have gone through cost cutting to try and keep things level as major projects have been delayed costing them coaches, like tennis.
It's just a poorly run organization, especially when you consider their built in advantages.
