This really isn't a debate. We are paying like everyone else. Sumlin only gets so much right now due to his circumstance. That is the biggest problem. And yes, boosters withhold money even if it hurts the team, they like the power. And no, the NCAA isn't going to catch these people you think they are that stupid? Hundreds of ways to do this and not get caught.

You think Shefield is magically turning down ATM, playing in best conference, starting next year with a chance to stick it to Saban, at a school he had #2 choice a few years ago because Herman showed up at Texas (non bowl team in crap conference playing crap games)? Magic I guess?

The NCAA was defanged several years back. They probably wish they still had the influence. They have pretty ran hoping to fight another day.

The State of Texas has laws prohibiting illegal recruitment. We have plenty of Aggie prosecutors. They need to start going after out-of-state programs that attempt to pay athletes. Figure you leave the sips alone and expect their prosecutors to return the favor. If they dont, then you start going after their bagmen too.

A few okie or coonass boosters getting all-expense extended stays in the Huntsville Hilton would do wonders.

Nobody from the hood/farm/swamp talks to the NCAA until years after the fact. But plenty of hoodrats would line up to cooperate if it meant avoiding prison. Heck, the bagmen would be easy targets. Get your hooks into one, and he would probably roll over on his network.

If that law is still on the books it could be a good gentlemans aggreement between us and the sips that we don't go after any in state bagmen and focus on those poaching talent elsewhere *cough ole miss*. If the fear is you go out of state we go after your family for recruiting violations we could easily circle the wagons as a state and have Texas college football back on top. No reason there isn't a Texas school in the top 15 at the end of a regular season.
