He's just an after thought at this point. He doesn't fit in the same suit he had 4 years ago.
He's the 2016 version of Uncle Rico
My Dad, class of '51, had passed away , and my Mom, the most fervent Aggie I have ever known, besides my father and myself, developed dementia right before he came to A&M. I would have given anything if they could have seen him play. They both would have gotten such a kick out of it. To appreciate JFF the way some Aggies do, it may help to have been an Aggie for one's whole life, waiting for that "maybe next year" season, and then seeing a talent like Johnny in an Aggie uniform. What a thrill it would have been for them. I know it was for me. He made Aggie football fun.
Heard a very similar story from a neighbor that year, except his dad was still around to watch that season and they told each other, "It's finally Next Year!"
One of the best college players but the biggest waist of God given talent. Story of riches to rags and what could have been.

I'm class 1995, wife is 94, brother is 90, daughter is 2016. The four years of amazing football during my daughter's time was so much fun I will always treasure it! I hope Johnny has a second round but if not I will never forget his amazing time in Aggieland.

My 6yr old son watched him play the Florida game in person, his Heisman year. Johnny Football, Heisman, etc. that year.
He would walk up to other kids his age, and ask them if they watched Aggie Football, and say " I'd like to tell you about Aggie Football and my favorite player Johnny Manziel". Had a big poster of him in his room.
We completely remodeled the house last year, and I started to bring up what used to be his favorite poster, but was shut down by my son. No need for that. He KNEW that Johnny was a screw up. A 10 year old, no less. "I know Dad, I don't want it up". His idol, a waste.
Not a total waste though, as the talk about drugs are bad is already clear in his mind. He watched his idol flush it all away. No better example.
