I hope Washington gets left out. These teams are not up to the task of taking on bama. Michigan is much better.
Really? Did you watch the CU/ Michigan game? Colorado was up pretty much the entire first half in Ann Arbor against Michigan and fell behind when Liufau went down. At a neutral site, Washington was ahead the whole time against Colorado and beat them by a greater margin than Michigan was able to do at home. There's no way a two loss Michigan team should get in ahead of a one loss Washington squad. Besides, no team is up to the task of beating Bama.

Alabama is definitely okay with playing UW in the semi-final
FWIW, the only team that I can see really challenging Alabama is Clemson. Clemson has a great, dual-threat QB, a nice front seven and plenty of perimeter play-makers on offense. Ohio State has some athletes, but I don't think Barrett is quite good enough to give them a real shot against the Tide.

But Washington won the PAC 12 which only has 5 bowl eligible teams. And their OOC schedule would make Art Briles blush, it was sooo bad.

They'll get into the playoffs, but will probably hit a buzzsaw.

Hurts will eventually hurt them, pun intended. They haven't been in a pressure situation on offense late in the game all year. Ohio St has the talent man for man to be there at the end and Clemson has already proven they will be. Ohio St or Clemson wins it all. They both have better QB's, with Watson being much better.

Agreed. Michigan dropped two games in November and they're not playing for a conference championship; no way they make it in, IMHO. Wisconsin or Penn State each have an outside shot since they're both playing in a championship game tomorrow, but I don't expect either to make it in. Ultimately, I believe that Ohio State will be the only Big-10 team in the playoff. Alabama, Clemson and U-Dub will likely round out the top-four.

6 and tell me which conference was that great top to bottom this year.

Also, the Pac plays 9 conf games. If the SEC played 9 this year instead of the extra patsy, there would probably only be 9 bowl eligible with 1-2 6-6 teams. So, I wouldn't talk too much smack.

Intriguing points, Scotty. I reckon we'll see!

As I stated above, I do like Clemson.

Browning played crappy, but he's much better than what you saw last night. He missed a lot of WRs, reminded me of Trevor, and his WRs dropped some they should've had. It looked to me like the coaches realized that and ran more than they probably planned; kinda refreshing to see good coaching. it also helps that they have a good OL and a couple of stud RBs.

I'd like to see them in the playoffs and go against Bama. Bama wins, but if Browning plays like he has most of the year it wouldnt be a blowout. and i'd much rather see that than 2 Big 10 teams.

and i hate watching college games on Fox. they suck at it. brady quinn as an announcer? someone needs to tell fox that if they're gonna carry nationally televised conference championship games, they need to take it seriously and get a better crew.

lots of empty seats in the stadium too, and not just the cheap seats up high. even lots of empties midfield down low. it looked like one of the crappy early bowl games.

And he was on Briles, shutting him up too.

If I'm thinking right, that is. Open to correction here.

That wasn't talking smack, dear. That was stating a mathematical fact. I have long been vocal about a 9 game conference schedule being stupid given the CFP regime.

The SEC realizes that and voted to remain on the 8-4 schedule with one P5 game as part of the OOC games going forward.

The Big XII hired consultants to tell them that expansion, getting away from the RR, and going to divisional play would increase their chances of reaching the playoffs by a healthy percentage. But they ignored the report. Yes, they are stupid.

Said all media pundits the last 3 years when OU, Ohio St and Clemson lit their defense up.

Again, Bama has played ONE good, NFL caliber QB this year. And that QB threw for over 400 (about 470 individual total yards) and put up 40+ points on them. Knight was the last decent QB they played and he threw for a couple of TD's.

After last year, Saban will be rooting for anyone playing Clemson. No one is steam rolling Ohio St. They, like Bama, have too much talent to get rolled. Washington WILL put up points on Bama, but not sure if they have the front 7 to win.

Washington didn't have to pass as they ran all over them.

They also played defense, something in short supply now.

Pac 12 commission Larry Scott never should've moved the venue of the championship game. With the large geographical footprint of the conference, it makes traveling more burdensome. It's over 800 miles from Seattle to Santa Clara and almost 1400 miles from Boulder to Santa Clara. They had much better turnouts when the game was held at the school with the better record.

Two left coast pot head schools in a game that no one is watching . They deserve to be in that game together.

the Rose Bowl is happy. Colorado played so poorly, the Buffs should fall below Southern Cal.

might get an old school Rose Bowl: Michigan vs. USC

and before talking about how great Washington's defense is...

UCLA held Colorado to 20 points...that included a special teams TD for CU.

and Stanford held the Buffs to 10 points
