...If in fact those in power listen to what this Board is feeling and decide to let Kevin go, how does that affect the class? New coach means new Coordinators and recruiters...do we keep the guys we have signed up? thoughts?

once the other schools catch up to our number of commits, we will drop. Based on avg star's we are ranked #21

We'd finish about the same regardless of who is coaching next year. With that said, Sumlin ain't leaving without a blowout loss to LSU. Even then, I'd be surprised.

A lot of that depends on who we hire/when. Most of our recruits are EE's which makes them less likely to DC. Our recruiting class is ranked top 10 right now but there is no way it's going to stay there when signing day comes around. It's not the type of class that will keep us competitive in the SEC. So bottom line we are going to have to make a move at some point. This class won't make or break anything.

Bringing in talent has not been the problem.

Development of our talent has been the problem.

I don't know how it effects the class at all. It probably will affect it though.

Exactly. You have to look at star average. Rivals gives a program points for every commit. You should only get points for high impact recruits. Below I list the 2 and 3 start recruits with their offers:

SEC and worthy adversaries in CAPS (except tu), best other offers also included

Roshaud Paul: NEBRASKA, OU
Myles Jones: OU, utah, MSU
Adrian Wolford: okie lite
Keynal McZeal: army, utsa
Tyree Johnson: OM, MIZZOU, thugville, UT, SCe, vt, unc
Jared Hocker: houston, kstate
Devodrick Johnson: MSU, MIZZOU
Devin Morris: UF, OU
Connor Blumrick: OM
Carson Green: houston
Debion Renfro: tech
Jayden Peevy: OM, UT
Ondario Robinson: UGA, MIZZOU, OU, tu
Jacob Kibodi: arizona state
Tyree Owens: (juco transfer) AUB, USCw, MSU
---
Camron Horry: L$U

Only 8 were recruited by another helmet program (OM is NOT a helmet program, they are winning right now b/c they cheat ballz) Its probably a safe bet that the high-impact players were recruited by helmet programs. So only 15 of our 23 commits were recruited by another helmet program.

Losing this recruiting class should not stop us from making a necessary coaching change.

Caveat: this is based on probability. There is a chance I could be wrong. Figure a high impact recruit has a 50/50 chance of succeeding in college. 3* recruits probably succeed something like 20% of the time. More are drafted just b/c there are so many more.

Bringing in talent has been a problem at certain positions. Our development on offense is no better. Our ol, wr, qb, etc have all struggled.

As for our current class? He have a high number of commits. There's a ton of 3 stars. We're more likely to finish around 15 than top 10.

It would be interesting to see team recruiting rankings based on average star ratings of only defensive players for the past three years.

We absolutely need the 9 EE's to help offset the depth problems as much as a possible. You think Mond sticks if we make a change?

If that were to happen, I think the class would drop to around 30ish.
