I actually like Holgersen. I mean to assemble a solid team in West Virginia is fairly impressive. And he coaches with fire and attitude as opposed to coach Jo cool.

Sure, a spread team can absolutely compete in the SEC West so long as there is competent coaching and the necessary talent (awesome dual-threat QB, solid RBs/WRs/OL & elite defensive "front seven"). Alabama, of all teams, actually runs a spread offense now. As for the "hurry up" stuff, Sumlin hasn't truly attempted that approach since Johnny left. The current Sumlin/Mazzone offense, just like the Sumlin/Spavital offense, is a "don't hurry/no raid/no huddle" offense.

If I were hiring tomorrow (which I prayed at mass that someone would be) Gruden would be on a jet to College Station
