OP - nice troll job... Coach Sumlin is doing a great job and if you can't see it - its because you don't want to.

You forgot Herman, who has descended from on high with the anointing.

He may be the next Saban. He may be the next name on my list. I dunno. But neither do our resident experts, because they don't have the tools to even guess either. They may as well be playing Cow Pie Bingo to select the next "guy that Sumlin needs to be more like".

Chavis turned the defense around, Turner brought the running game back and did wonders the O-line. I would assume Sumlin doesn't have play calling duties.

Spav was mishandled and three five star qbs were mishandled. It appears that KK did a great job by all accounts.

I think the jury is still out.

So ... Despite having a very solid win/loss record under the adversities mentioned above, you still think the jury is out? Goodness gracious.

Yeah, is he worth top 5 or 6 salary??? Ags are doing great this year, but the question was is he worth the money.

That four week abortion last year was on the HC. Spav couldn't coach himself out of a paper bag. One of two things.

#1) he's not a great offensive mind because he took the play calling duties from spav and was failing as a coach

#2) he failed as "CEO" because he didn't address a problem with play calling (spav)

Then he lost 2 5* qbs in a week. KA left because he was made to look like a dumbass while he was injured, not because Hill beat him out.

It appears like some good assistant coaches are in place now turning things around, but does that mean that Sumlin deserves top 5 money or do the assistants?

Is the US economy "doing good" because of a great enonomic policy of the last 8 years or in spite of it?

There are at least 10 sec teams who would trade places with us right now. There are that many in the BDF as well. I like what we have.

I get it.

It's not that he won poorly, he won poorly in week 5 when his teams tend to start falling apart. It makes it look like we will repeat all of the mistakes from previous years. SC is not good. How are we going to beat Alabama on the road if we struggle with SC? At the same time the offensive problems of the previous years are rearing their ugly head again.

For now, I'll chalk it up to a bad game. But some are more cynical, warranting the negativity.

This. I mean of we played like this against a better team then it wouldn't be so concerning. This being south Carolina gives pause and reminder to a history of things going poorly after a game like this and going into the real sec teams.

I honestly hate this. Sumlin changed the culture at A&M rather you think it's good or bad the players respond to him. Hiring Chavis was probably the best move Sumlin has made since JFF. Give credit where it's due, he may not have a natty or SEC title YET but I like our chances with him.

Just like Fisher and Malzahn haven't been since their MNC's, huh?

Are you a professional coach or do you just play one on TV?

Man it is tough to read the posts on this board. If we do not win 72-3 the team sucks, or Sumlin is overrated, or we are lucky to have Chavis (who Sumlin hired by the way). If the other team turns the ball over, we were just fortunate, yet let's forget about Kirk fumbling the punt return to open up Arkansas, or how about our fumble on the goal line as well? Do those not count? Against SC, Knight's fumble at the 50, his untimely INT, him missing two wide open receivers on the deep ball, Kirk dropping a critical 3rd down when we were moving the ball, or our missed FG....what about those? How about two dropped TD passes against Auburn? I mean, it is ridiculous how many people on here think everything goes your way for four quarters. The difference between this team and any we have had in the last 20 years, is that they can still get the job done, despite the setbacks a team encounters over four quarters...they would lay down and get steamrolled in years past.

This team played very poorly yesterday, with 4 key players out and a 5th in Ford going out early, yet still did what needed to be done to win on the road. How some of you still complain, is beyond me.

I'm convinced these guys get bullied (micro-aggressed?) by their co-workers on Monday after we lose and it's just too much for them.

Losses to them are more than a disappointment. They treat it like...betrayal.

I wonder if there's a thread on the Tennessee board where they're flipping out about how they can't play like they've been playing or they'll get slaughtered this weekend.

Honestly, haven't played anyone to tell. We will see if he is worth it when playing the meat of the sec west. If he has another late season collapse I want him gone. Plain and simple.

Save Saban and Meyer (who we would never get) every coach over the last four years that according the TexAgs coaching talent scouts was "the guy we need Sumlin to be more like" have alll since had shi*t the bed games...some against Sumlin himself. I remember specifically the names:

1) Bielema
2) Malzahn
3) Fisher
4) Freeze

And that's without getting out of our division.

Others can add to this list, I'm sure.

3) Fisher

No. He has a freshman QB and a defense that lost most of its starters from last year. Also quite a bit of the depth were seniors. They are the epitome of a young developing unit. Mostly sophomores. Not to mention they're version of Watts went down. Dalvin Cook is awesome but, most of the team around him will be back next year. I'm sure they will be in National contention again very soon.

Jimbo is 68-14, 4-2 in bowls, and has won a NATTY.

So...Talk about not knowing much about football,
