while you're here, visit the MSC when you're on campus, really neat. lots of great gameday activities to do on the north end of kyle field. go to the Dixie Chicken, have a pitcher
do not go to any of the restaurants mentioned above.
Hey, Fuego's is awesome. Hit that for lunch.

I would go to Sodolak's for dinner.
Forgot about Sodalak's. Easily best chicken fried steak in BCS

Truth. I would argue in the world. Closed Sundays, though.

Things that made me love Texas A&M and had a strong influence in me choosing this school, were the Gameday experiences.

1.) Midnight yell
2.) spence park on game day
3.) MSC (extremely close to spence park)
4. Corps march in
5. Aggies tailgating. (Again, spence)
6. The chicken (after the game)
7. The dirty sock (after the game)
You have to do these at MINIMUM.

Here's a google earth of our stadium in case you get lost.

If you need directions to the stadium, its address is:

1801 Harvey Mitchell Pkwy S, College Station, TX

You should be able to park really close to the stadium if you get there early.

I have lived in BCS since 1986. The places you listed are probably easily the worst of the "local" cusine.

Here's a list off the top of my head:

The village cafe in Bryan
RX pizza in downtown Bryan
Maddens
Christophers
The Republic
Mad Taco
Hullabaloos
Veritas
Cafe Eccel
Papa Perez or MI Pueblito for mexican
Shiraz for near eastern or Taz for indian
Antonios
Black water draw

And that's just a few better than the places you listed. There are many more.

You will be welcomed. Try to ignore any bad fans (there shouldn't be many)
Look for the smoke at the tailgates. Tons of bbq and beer and you will be welcomed!
Go to the Dixie chicken and midnight yell. There will be some ribbing but it's all in good fun.
Enjoy the game. Rocky Top and Gig Em

Hi All -

First, I apologize if this info is already on the forums somewhere. I thought there would be a topic on this question but I searched and couldn't find it. It's getting late in the afternoon and maybe it's my fault for not being able to find it from being tired of staring at this screen. If there is, a link to that discussion would be appreciated.

Anyway, I'm a Tennessee fan. We're making our first trip to College Station next weekend. I'm old (40s) and we've been going to a Tennessee away game for 20+ years. Kyle Field is the old SEC stadium we've never visited.

I'd like to get a few tips on maximizing our visit. What are some things we should be sure to take in so that we get the full Aggie experience? Places to eat and drink? Things to see?

Thanks very much in advance for your help.

Do not refer to College Station as Cstat.

The locals will think you are New Army (not a good thing).

Cafe Capri in neighboring Bryan is outstanding Italian good for, like literally six dollars.

Absolutely go to fargo's BBQ in Bryan and get the ribs (pork or beef). They open at 11:00 AM and get crowded pretty fast. Btw we really enjoyed our trip to Nashville last year. Looking forward to Knoxville next year if we can get tickets.

If you have any say so, please leave your band at home. If I never hear "Rocky Top" again it'll be too soon. During the 2005 Cotton Bowl my gf at the time was a Tennessee student and I sat near the band...

Enjoy your trip!
