Serious about visiting the tailgates.
Also serious about wearing your school's colors.
You will be treated
with kindness and respect and if there happens to be be some 1% that tries to start something, there will be a ton of Aggies to step in and stop it.
We pride ourselves on being friendly, just don't show up acting the fool and you will be well treated.
This is it.
We are also a very proud bunch. So if you act like the Alabama guy sitting a few rows in front of us did at the game last year, turned around laughing and started flipping off all the Aggies, things will turn on you quickly.
Remember to not step on the MSC (Student Center) grass. Its a living memorial to the fallen servicemen and Aggies in war. Plus, remember to remove your hat when in the MSC (thats it for the negative. sorry).
Enjoy the Aggie friendliness and go have a beer at any tailgate. Midnight yell is where 30 -40K Aggies show up to practice yells at Kyle Field. Be ready for some sophomoric silly humor at TN expense...but its harmless, all in fun and not too tacky. But people will be very friendly and you will enjoy it.
Northgate: The Chicken is a bar that is Aggie Tradition. Been there a long, long time. Typically its where the apposing team fans go to. There will be a lot of Aggies and Vols there. There are numerous other bars and restaurants at Northgate as well.
On Campus: The MSC and MSC Medal of Honor Area, Sully, The Quad and Corp Museum. Corp March in, Spirit Walk. Get there a little early and thats when the Vols will be entering the stadium grounds.
Where to stay: Seriously, start looking now. Hotels are generally completely sold out on game weekends. Someone mentioned Bed and Breakfast. This will be your best option. You can pay a whole lot and stay close to A&M within walking distance, or you can rent a nice B&B in Bryan or College Station further away and pay something more reasonable. Parking is plentiful in the neighborhood just south of the campus and stadium area. There are also a few pay lots right behind Northgate.
Have a great time.
