Happy we pulled this one off. Offense is not looking good, but scored enough. Defense hs holes, but played well overall. It's exactly what I thought I'd see. Losses to Bama, lsu and ole miss. Tenn and Arkansas determine is we have 3 losses or 5

If all first week wins are the same, then we can never get off to a winning start because "REMEMEBER ASU? HOWS ABOUT SOUTHCAROLINA?!"

The point is that your mention of 2012 is irrelevant since the last three season openers have all been against ranked teams. We'll see if they follow the rest of the season of '14 and '15.

By your very logic the first-week L in 2012 is the path of success.



I mention 2012 because that 11-2 season is the measure by which all you naysayers compare the 2016 roster. We blew out GOOD sec teams by 2-3 touchdowns, we scored on the first drive of every game, we gained 600 yards of offense a game. THAT IS OVER. We have completely new personnel and new coordinators. We play a different game. Any sane fanbase would be doing handstands in joy over the result today, but a ton of yall are just so bratty its not enough to win by 7.

We don't know much except from what we saw today. Don't act like throwing out a weird reference to 2012 makes more sense than actually discussing the play of today. Not sure why you think I'm a nay sayer. I just roll my eyes at people talking down to others like they have real perspective.

Man, so many of you are missing the bigger picture.

My excitement for winning our 1st game against a likely overrated out of conference opponent a la 2015/14 does not supersede the incoming let down awaiting for us come week 6. Why do I believe that? Because signs are pointing to not much changing from last season to this one.

- Familiar play-calling with a few notable exceptions
- The definition of average QB play
- Hot/cold defense

But worst of all, a coach in his 5th year who appears to be running the same system that gets us to 7-5 or 8-4 in the SECW.

Other teams are having a rough first game? That's nice and all, but these teams have shown to make adjustments and progress as the season goes on. Please point to quantifiable data the last 2 years as to why "this is our season" when a large majority of signs from this game show otherwise.

Bottom line, I'm happy with the win but not happy with the status quo that so many of you are ignorant to or simply in denial about where our program is. 7-5/8-4 ain't gonna cut it for me and I think many others share the same sentiment.
