Your friends suck.

Got MBA at McCombs. Hate them with a passion.
EDIT: There were 6 of us in the program of about 150 and several wore orange and went to football games. I couldn't do it.

I can't believe how many AGGIES here received their Masters at UT. I mean, doesn't that do against everything you believe in? And I'm not trolling or being sarcastic. It just seems as much as you hate UT (or TU), that you'd never, ever claim anything from that school much less spend gobs of money there. And then talk trash about it night and day!

I have a BS from A&M and an MS from texas. You can be damn sure I bleed maroon and refused to sing the Eyes of Texas during graduation.

So for you that are ashamed of your texas "rag" and won't even hang it on your wall: why did you go there then?

quote:I'd disagree. I think got a pretty darn good education at UT-Austin. And some handy degrees.
I did this, but I was in the Corps. There's not even an issue to discuss -- you get a degree from t.u., and an education from Texas A&M.

Your undergraduate institution and no other is your "alma mater"---literally it means "the mother of your soul."
So if you treat your grad school job training as the mother of your soul, I mean, I guess go on with your bad self.
quote:
What's your school? I say law school doesn't count and that you are an Aggie. I've got friends that went to schools that aren't good in football, but went to law schools with decent college teams. It seems they disregard the bad athletic program in favor of the good program. Thoughts?
quote:Yeah, pretty much the same boat. Undergrad at Rutgers, grad at A&M. I'd never say which one is better and I'd cry in a corner if both schools played against each other in anything, but in my day to day life, I'm much more connected to A&M.
The easy answer to this is always "it's your undergrad institution."
But a lot of it probably depends on how much you connect to the different universities. A good friend of mine did his undergrad at Vandy and doctorate at A&M. But during grad school, he really got into being an Aggie, and I think he considers himself more of an Aggie than a Dore because both Texas (the state) and Texas A&M felt like home to him. And in my opinion, that's the sort of thing I'd like to see more of.
