Week one lines in Vegas hit the board today with our game being a Pick em with UCLA. Wouldn't touch it either way.

Also surprised that Notre Dame and Texas also came in as a pick em. I would think even on the road ND could handle them without a problem

As a reminder, lines are set to balance betting...

So a neutral field, Vegas picks UCLA? I'm kinda surprised. I figured we would be a few points favorite.

I for one am very surprised by the ND-tex line.

I am actually shocked our friends over in Austin aren't favored. DKR is one tough place to play......intimidating, you might say....

Some offshores opened a few weeks back. It was A&M -3 and (I think) Notre dame -6. Very surprised to see southpoint open ND at pk.

Yesterday, we opened +1.5 v Arkansas there.

I am curious as to which book/casino has lines up. Is it indeed southpoint? Is there a low bet limit?

My point is merely that early lines are early and are based on less information and therefore more likely to focus on balancing bets. (Well...and lines aren't direct probabilities.)

The -3 for us is more realistic imho (though who can tell?)

I would take us in a pick em.

Sips are a tougher call. Domers lost a ton of starters but the midget can't coach his ass out of a paper bag.

La Tech played Houston the first game of the season. Houston went 5-7 that year. La tech gave up 49 points and scored 56. A&M had a pretty good/decent defense in 2012 (tied for 28th in scoring D compared to la techs 62nd ranked D) and while its no guarantee we win that game, I think it's probable that we would have out-talented them.

If we play that game, facing the lack of Defensive talent presumably would have allowed us to see that Johnny was a great scrambler and deadly outside of the pocket while passing. Something we didn't know going into Florida whom had amazing talent on that side of the ball.

Basically, what I'm saying is in your mind you can believe what you want. I'll stick with my opinion.
