The basic rule for the offseason: No news is good news.
Well, arguably, the most dramatic A&M football offseason got even more ridiculous last week. At this rate, there is no telling what else will happen between now and Sept. 3.
No matter what, I'm absolutely ready for the season to begin. I would love to see and hear how the players are taking everything. We all understand that there are noticeable differences between the two teams, but I so badly want this team to come out, in a similar fashion, to the way the 2012 team took over the SEC and the nation.
This past weekend, I remembered Coach Sumlin's tweet from January. He, along with the rest of the staff and every player, are going to enter a season where expectations are high, and just about everyone, outside of CS will be against them. The men who walk throughout the Bright Complex need to feel like Sean Porter, Ryan Swope, and Luke Joeckel after the 2012 SEC Media Days; disrespected but determined to prove the nation wrong.
Here's to a successful 2016 season.
