This January Tweet by Coach Sumlin has even more meaning than before.

The basic rule for the offseason: No news is good news.

Well, arguably, the most dramatic A&M football offseason got even more ridiculous last week. At this rate, there is no telling what else will happen between now and Sept. 3.

No matter what, I'm absolutely ready for the season to begin. I would love to see and hear how the players are taking everything. We all understand that there are noticeable differences between the two teams, but I so badly want this team to come out, in a similar fashion, to the way the 2012 team took over the SEC and the nation.

This past weekend, I remembered Coach Sumlin's tweet from January. He, along with the rest of the staff and every player, are going to enter a season where expectations are high, and just about everyone, outside of CS will be against them. The men who walk throughout the Bright Complex need to feel like Sean Porter, Ryan Swope, and Luke Joeckel after the 2012 SEC Media Days; disrespected but determined to prove the nation wrong.

Here's to a successful 2016 season.

I know that expectations are always high. To answer your question, I typed it just now.

Sumlin's been a solid coach for the most part. Most of the hotseat business has been caused by the mishandling of the QBs and Spav, which sucks. Spav was his biggest mistake.

He's literally fired every single assistant except for Kliff.

What's funny is that he was pretty successful before A&M with offensive hires Dana and Kliff.

Maybe we're just cursed.

I came in as a freshman enjoying Johnny's years. I refuse that reality and accept my own.

Not true. At all; read up.

By the way, it looks like there's another Joe the Mope on the scene.

Hello, Joe.

Hell yeah, it's our year.

And in six months, we will follow it up with just wait until next year.

Life's roughest storms? This year will be the PEAK, not the storm.

Next year will be one tough-ass storm. Not this year,

So, he's doing it all by himself now? No wonder we suck.

McKinney and Spav were his biggest coaching mistakes. McKinney is still on staff.

McKinney makes a mean cup of coffee. You can't put a pricetag on that.

4-8 in the SEC West is the trend, will it improve in 2016? I'm doubting it will. The losses shouldn't big as big with a better Chavis defense though.

Remove one player in the '12 and '13 seasons, and we're below .500 in those seasons.
We weren't built for the SEC, and especially not SEC championships.
We're trying to build a program. While at the same time playing against the best in the land. Wins are hard to scratch up when you're still looking uphill at the perennial powers.
We got lucky in years 1 and 2 by having a once in a lifetime college talent whose unpredictable backyard ball style of play can break down almost any defense on the right day.

If we were in the Big XII right now we'd be in their top two. In the SEC we're middle of the road.

If it were that damn easy to just flip a switch and be dominant in the SEC, then everyone would be doing it. Most of the SEC schools have good coaches, all trying to do the same thing. It's just a tough F'n road.
Let the coaches do their jobs.
It's not like we were built like Alabama in '12 and now were built like S.Carolina in '16.

Didn't know we played 12 SEC West games per year.

No - He just has a firm grasp of reality, something sorely lacking here in The Zoo as of late.

And if some of the rumors from earlier this year are true, so would Spav if Sumlin had had his way.

Is it intentional that the acronym for Family Over Everything is FOE?

#FOEAggie just doesn't look right

Should have tweeted #FAUXAggie to you know who
