True, but Sumlin is almost assuredly hyper competitive & would try to do anything necessary to win at anything. Guys very rarely get to his level w/out that "try 100% to win everything" gene. So yes guaranteed money might make him an arrogant jerk, but I doubt it impacts his work ethic or drive to excel.

Do you know how many people butt-in for face time, glad handing and idle chatter with every major D1 coach? It's a total ass-whip. You don't think it is annoying because it never happens to you. You just wanted a minute of is time and you felt entitled to it. Why?

You behaved presumptively and then got your feelings hurt when the most recognizable man on a campus of 75K+ people and hundreds of thousands of alums wanted to be left alone.

You're right on most if not all points. My only comment is that the 2016 class never really felt like previous recruiting classes from a sense of urgency standpoint. I feel like we truly never hit the recruiting trail like the years before. It kind of started slow, ran into the mess that was Novemeber/December and then scramble to recover since. Not sure why we started so slow but I think that even goes back to 2014/2015 Junior Days. I'm just ready to seriously make a push as a team that belongs in the top 2-3 teams in the SEC, not the pretender that we have been. Part of that is coaching, maybe a lot more than I want to give credit, part of that is players. We have gotten better but we really haven't stocked up on SEC talent like others have. I'll just keep trying to enjoy our small victories as they come until it truly turns around.

I have met PLENTY of D1 coaches, SABAN INCLUDED!! I have been to multiple coaching conventions all over the country and heard all of these guys speak and done my best at introducing myself to them. I am in the coaching profession, which if you don't know, is all about networking.

The only coach that has EVER F-bombed me and refused my handshake is the one at my own former university. I really didn't make a big deal of it for all of the reasons you just stated. But yes, I'll be the first to admit that I got slightly butt hurt over the ordeal solely because it was the coach at my university and not Saban or someone else that did it.

Oh cool that's the second time you've told that story.
