Weird. Kubiak and Wade Phillips couldn't make the Super Bowl in Houston. I wonder what the difference is in Denver? Rick? Bob? Either of you got any idea??

Probably has something to do with Peyton Manning being on the team. Plus the fact that there are way better players on the Broncos team.

Without possibly mentioning them any further in this thread, it's just nice to see this Aggie get to head coach in the Super Bowl. Kubiak has always succeeded and fit in well in the Broncos club. It's almost easy to see that this was his destined milestone gig.

Congrats to Owen Daniels, too. Daniels, a key ingredient that has caught many a Manning pass, has latched on to Gary's offensive game plan wherever he has gone.

You can count on Manning passes to Daniels for the Broncos to produce points.

As a Texans fan I was beyond livid when we fired Kubiak because I always felt he never got a solid QB and hell the GM never drafted one in any early rounds to help develop one. I look at Denver with a stout D and a decent QB (Peyton Manning is a genius but not where he was two years ago arm strength wise) and they are in the Super Bowl with Kubiak. Imagine if the Texans had drafted a QB in the past two drafts in the early rounds. I think Kubiak with Derek Carr would have done great. More and more Minnesota is looking genius for jumping in front to ensure the Texans didn't get Teddy Bridgewater.

That's why the draft has become sooooo much better since Kubiak and Philips departed. Rick Smith manages to pick up about one good player a year and that will never build a championship team. Most young QBs in the pros take at least 4 years to develop and by then JJ Watt will be beat to crap.
