I do not usually post serious comments on this board, usually i just listen to the malarkey that is every inch of the Zoo. That being said, I seriously cannot empathized with these recruits. Have they lost their god-d*** mind? Why the actual **** would any recruit ever want to go to t.u. NOW. They cannot develop QB's, and as of right now, won't put players into the NFL. Theyre fresh off a 5-7 season where as we put up not a much better season but at least somewhat respectable, we put players into the NFL. they GET PAID. Why are we losing blue chips like Brandon Jones and Malik to this mockery of a program, there is not one ounce of reasoning in which i could ever justify someone to go that ****hole to play football. WE SHOULD BE RUNNING THIS STATE.

Those kids are going pro day one freshman year on the almost 40 acres ...

Like it or not they are still tu. Until the entitled generation is gone it is what it is.

Austin is still a fun place to be as well. They'll get their share. We are better. No big deal

You have to remember it's easier for an athlete to get accepted to TU than A&M. Also, everyone knows you will be an academic all American at TU without showing up for class and graduate. Not so much at A&M where athletes don't get special treatment.

In the end, every historically good program will still get recruits. Some of it is that they've grown up wanting to go there, from family ties or just seeing the good times growing up.

It happens, and always will.

No reason to lose sleep over it.

We didnt put a 'much better" season. We were better the 4 previous seasons yes , last season I'm not sure we could have beat them. Our current rosters aren't that much different (in quality) and their freshman played better than ours last year. We should be kicking ass.

Every recruiting ranking I see has us way ahead of texas... You can't win them all. Many times it is about the competition the kid would face at their position, so they go elsewhere.

It's as simple as believing the narrative that Strong only being at t.u. For 2 years and needing "his guys" to turn the corner. There is still a hint of the honey moon phase with Strong.

Sumlin has been here 4 years now. Kids think that without Johnny that Sumlin is a .500 or worse SEC coach (in conference play).

Well, your first mistake is trying to understand how the mind of a stud 17-18 yr old football player works. You have little idea the situation they grew up in. They may have lived next door to Longhorn fans all their life. Their local Wal-Mart probably only sold tu gear. Some Aggie might have said something mean to their friend's neighbor's momma's cousin. You just never know what all goes into shaping their decisions.

It's only been 5 years since they played in a national championship. Doesn't have to make sense- just the way it is.

Shutout by Iowa State? They were terrible in a weak conference, no telling how bad the record would have been in the SEC. The rosters are not similar. CS has missed badly on the Dline and recruits unbalanced classes. The Florida Fab 5? What a clown show that turned out to be. The Oline isn't much better. You really don't want to brag about freshman performances...we were there too long. We finally have a Defense which will start a lot of upperclassmen. A kid like Jones would start, but otherwise, the preference is to have some experience, especially on Defense.

I am sure if Gray had a do over, he would not have gone to tu. Wasted college career. Waste of talent. Strong is in over his head, and it requires the President and AD to follow him to Tulsa to get the job done. And that is for an OC that never called plays. Strong pits the freshmen against upperclassmen. His in game mis management is embarrasing. He is one and done next year, and the transition coach will not inherit much. I thought the MacWilliams era for tu was bad, but this is worse. Don't expect tu to dig out for a long time.

Back from a ban because the gents on Premium cannot handle the truth. I was in Houston about a month ago having drinks with some well-known sip lawyers, and some LSU guys as well. At that time, my allegiances were unknown, and these boosters were hammered on high dollar scotch. I was told in great detail several things. One, Murray had been speaking to the sips about a transfer for months - this was a week or so before the QB drama. Two, the sips were going to get virtually every recruit left on the board, because everyone noticed nothing happened to OM this Fall for buying recruits. So I was told they were buying everyone for the next coach - OM style. No subtlety necessary anymore. We've seen that play out as well. Last, that Herman would be the new coach next Fall - already have a deal in place with him. Charlie is gone if he doesn't win nine, and we all agreed the moron won't. This isn't Sumlin's fault - he's fighting against a system and unified front with the sips. BDF has been given their marching orders, which is to tear down A&M no matter what it takes.

Just a little perspective on what is happening and what to expect. Will be interested to see if I get banned this time given all we know now. But expect a very rough signing day.

I expect Baylor, OU, and Tcu to continue winning their conference. Herman will not automatically right the ship. Sumlin and Chavis will field a top 25 Defense next season and have success.
