...Is fight. I want to see our guys fight and be absolutely unphased by adversity. I want to see what I saw in 2012.

I still remember Malena slamming so hard into that Florida defender he broke his leg.

I still remember EZ Nwachukwu fighting for yards with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and a 6th Arkansas defender jump on the crowd.

I remember Mike Evans slamming the Oklahoma defender down to brush him off.

I remember Manziel stiffarming a Bama defender.

I remember Ryan Swope roaring after two intense catches despite skilled Alabama defenders closing in on him.

I remember our team not quitting, even going for a Hook-and-Ladder to try to end the LSU game on a miracle.

I want that fight back. If our Ags lose a few games, so be it. I want to kick the crap out of the other team with relentless fight and ferocity while doing it, just like in 2012. That can come back with the right leadership, coaching, and fire. That can come back in 2016. It may not, but i can. I want to see it happen. Play with a chip on your shoulders, Ags. Make them fear you.

That's all I care about. The lush for sumlin to leave is a lot deeper than W and Ls, but some people can't see it. This team has no fight in them

Well said... And think about how many 5* guys were on the field. Doing more with less.

Agree. It's the dynamic of the team that's so "off". The loss of fight and obvious mid season conflict/slump. So much comes from the top and there's something clearly missing. W/L numbers aren't everything.

Most of this happened because we had a leader (Manziel) who embodied it. We need a similar leader.

And that's supposed to be the HC (after all, that's what he gets paid the big bucks for).

Fight as in an 11 win season? I think there's a long line for that product.

No, fight as in an attitude that they won't take crap from anyone, regardless of the win/loss record.

Go back and watch some of the games in the 2012 season. There was more than just talent and Johnny. Most of the players on that team were not incredibly highly rated when Sherman recruited them. They had heart. There was a general attitude across a lot, if not all, of our players (especially juniors and seniors) that they were not going to let themselves be stopped. If the other team wanted to stop the Aggies, they had to fight for it.

There's a reason it was said that there were two teams nobody wanted anything to do with by post-season: Texas A&M and Stanford.

For another non-Aggie example, look at Louisiana Tech from that year. They didn't care who they faced. They made it a shoot-out against us, and we were pretty damn good that year.

I want to see the kind of fight and attitude that makes the guys across the field and across the line of scrimmage uneasy. It doesn't have to be a swagger; it needs to be toughness and sheer will.

In 2012, we had Manziel, Swope, Malena, Nealy, and more. There was a lot of senior leadership.

Heck, Malena was so underrated. That guy ran hard no matter how big the defensive line was that he was going against.

The Head Coach has to establish the culture of the program....that is a huge part of why they get paid as much as they do.

That has definitely slipped since 2012, and it needs to get fixed in a hurry.

The problem is that our HC develops a culture of "cool music", swag (helicopter at HS games recruiting), etc. I see the right culture on defense with Chavis, but not on the offense. The HC should develop the culture, not the coordinators.

Agree with this fully. Not trying to add on to this posters words - this head coach HAS established a culture whether he knows it or not. There's been a lot of problems of late that suggest the culture is not on the right course.

That 2012 season was so wondrous, great Senior baller players, the Heisman Trophy highlight reel and winner that was Johnny Manziel, and many outstanding players from the Sherman program that churned to the #5 ranking. Beat either FLA or LSU and they may have gone on to win the National Championship. I think the season surprised Coach Sumlin somewhat as all that confetti fell after they whacked OU in the Cotton Bowl, It was a great moment for him and, more importantly, the overall Texas A&M football program - a bigger concept. The staff, team and Coach Sumlin did their job SO WELL that season.

We'll see what happens. I don't think Coach Sumlin ever builds to, or maybe better, assumes control at that level again. I don't dislike Coach Sumlin. The SEC is tough and it really takes having all the pieces in place to seriously compete as 2012 showed. Coach Wooden used to say, "sports reveal character."

Like all Texas Aggie fans, I share the sentiment of many here who simply want to see Aggie football get straightened out and get back on the high road. This changing situation is both intriguing to fans and unsettling to TAMU. I pray the decision makers exercise the best choices as soon and as professionally as possible.

In the aftermath of Tate Martell, I want to reiterate this message. I don't care how we do it. Get the fight back.
