Barnes was arrogant in the way he posted things. Had a very "I'm better than you and here's why" type of style.

That makes way more sense and has been stated before, but at this point I'm too far down the rabbit hole.

Schottenheimer is a "meh" hire at best. Georgia fans will be cheering because he's gone and not because of some manufactured "3rd and Chavis," BS.

His offense at Georgia has looked just as futile as ours during certain games this season. Not a comforting thought, at all.

I read his post that way, too. After this past season, as the frustration with Spav has grown, desperation for hope as small as it may be sets in.

There are levels of coaching hires. The SMH type, the meh type, the "solid" type, and the "home run." Doesn't always start off as one and then later appears to change much.

SMH hires very rarely work out long term. (Kiffin at USC, Sark at USC, Riley at Nebraska, Rich Rod at Michigan, Chizik at Auburn after a nattie, to boot.) The fit is just off from the very beginning.

The meh type is usually one where he's replacing a coach who left for greener pastures. New guy can hopefully hold serve with recruiting and on game days. (Orgeron/Steele at LSU)

The "solid" hire brings a good record to the table with a proven ability to improve his players. (Fedora wasn't a flashy hire but he can install his system pretty fast. Leach takes a little longer, but gets there.)

The home run goes without saying. Elite coach with a ton of success. Brings immediate excitement and buzz.

I have no idea, but everytime Rojo says it will be HUGE, I keep thinking that it has to be Mr. Don Trump. He played football in college and his hair looks like a yellow brick road.

The only HUGE name out of anybody mentioned is Spurrier. But i just dont see how that would be possible or if it would even work. Although, I will say that when he stepped down Sumlin sure had a lot of praise for him. Talked about him at length in the PC and again on The Pulse.

Except maybe the "yellow brick road" reference for Morris would be "there's no place like home"

To be perfectly honest, it sounds like Rojo is a bma that likes to watch football but isn't really much of a football guy. Probably thinks because he's heard this guy's name before he's a big hire. He keeps saying Huge, but I bet at the end of the day it's gonna be more like, Ho hum.
