I think a lot of you are underestimating how large of a step back LSUs defense is going to take. Which will be a fatal flaw for a team that has relied on defense for so long.

Do you not remember him at Baylor? Or the fact that he was the DC at Bama for Saban's worst year (8-4)? Or his Clemson defense getting blasted for 70 points by WVU in the orange bowl?

Every time Steele gets promoted beyond LB coach his defense underperforms and he gets himself bumped back down to a LB coaching role.

I predict the meltdowns on Texags on any given fall Saturday will be epic.

Like everyone else, I could see us finishing anywhere from first to fifth. I just really really hope we can win at LSU this year.

That's about right. And don't feel bad about being objective. Texas A&M has done NOTHING to deserve a better prediction. Chavis hire/Mack/Kyler mean f ck-all until we actually improve on the field.

10 wins needs to happen this year. I guess we will know by the end of the year if Sumlin is a good coach or a coach that rode JM's coat tails to one very good season and one above average season.

Sadly it will be more like 7 or 8 wins.

Steele is a big step down from Chavis no doubt. But you won't see a huge change in 1 year given the talent he has.

Sure, they aren't going drop off a cliff in one year. Talent and teaching from Chavis is still there, but scheme has a huge impact.


But hey, this is just speculation. We'll see in a couple months. Hopefully they suck in all sorts of ways.

I agree there's no right for A&M to expect a high level of respect in predictive rankings. Technically, our record has regressed each year.

My (hope laden) expectation is that the Ags will surprise people this year, and we'll start hearing from all sorts of media members that they knew all along how good they could be.

I look at those people as the counterbalance to the folks that think Sumlin should get another year if he goes 6-6.

Switch A&M and LSU and I agree. Still not a believer in our _efense.

How are we not trending up? We return a young talented QB, a set of young WRs who are arguably the best in the SEC, and an equally talented OL as last year.

There is no chance that the D is not better, hell its almost impossible to not be. We have one of a hand full of players in the country who can legitimedatley take over a game, and picked up a top 10 DC.

Seriously how are we not trending up? I'm not saying we win, but people picking us last is mind blowing to me.
