tu coaching still sux. sip 4 and 5 star recruits that just took a beatdown from Arky.

1. Get 'em signed, on campus, and in school.
2. Make 'em bigger, stronger, and faster.
3. Coach 'em up.

The facilities are there, the commitment to winning is there.

There is still an unhealthy obsession with comparing ourselves to tu. Please recall they considered this a divorceand accusing us of walking out on them. So be it! Don't ever get caught looking back. When you fight and argue with them, you give them power over you. At this point, I really don't care what they do, or where they rank. It doesn't matter. We're in a much better place and position. For all the talk about the recent championship, The SEC still sits on top in terms of talent, potential and championship caliber up and down the West and East division. We're good, thank you.

How were the classes ranked in 2010 and 2011 resulting in 3 Aggies drafted among the top 22 and not sips begging drafted in any round? I bet their class was rated higher. Bunch of morons doing the ratings.

Ohio won because of great play by their QB and RB. The final 4 all had very good QBs including 2 Heisman winners. To say QB isn't important is just idiotic. Did tcu or Baylor have bad QB play?

If you only take the rankings on their own merit then yes we aren't head and shoulders above the sips and they may even be slightly higher. However, in my opinion that would be taken out of context. If Heard comes around and becomes a decent QB for them everything changes. If not then their class looks like crap even though it is ranked high. If Chavis takes the talent we have on campus and coaches them into a stout defense then our class looks much better.

The bottom line is that at this point there are too many "ifs" to really evaluate. Look at the last two recruiting classes for both schools in addition to this one and then tell me what you think.

You are overlooking the reason people are saying the horns have a "bad class."

They have not addressed their glaring needs. Strong's defense was decent by Big XII standards by the end of the year, but their offense was a disaster. Swoopes was overwhelmed and underperforming behind an O-Line that was atrocious. And then for S&Gs decided to overhaul the offensive scheme at the end of the recruiting cycle. Threw much of their previous efforts in recruiting out the window. Bye-bye Gentry.

Guess what?? No QB relief, they got bodies for the O-Line, but not great ones, and they re-stacked on defense.

Theyve made a pretty dang good attempt at making their QB situation better. Sure had me scared for a while. What more can you ask for? If they get Locksley, the situation is certainly going to improve vastly.

As for OL, it was terrible last season. They needed to find guys that could come in and contribute immediately. What did they do? Found 3 Juco guys that they felt could come in and play for them immediately. Idk what you call that, but I call it addressing a need.

I do agree the QB situation is still shaky, especially if Locksley sticks with FSU. However, the bottom line is, (takes off maroon colored glasses), they've been better at recruiting than us this season up to this point. It's very true.

There are still four days left to tell who the ultimate winner will be, but I'm starting to feel less and less optimistic that it will be us. Hopefully Coach Sumlin has something in store that I would've never guessed.

Their class has good defensive talent. But they can't find the horses out there to fix their issues on offense. No WR of QB help and the IL recruits are 2* and 3* players. So their class is decent but not getting help where they need to improve. P

besides the grade risks, the other problem with t.u.'s class is the significant number of out of state players from faraway states (e.g. California and Florida) -- those players have a higher chance of eventual transfer (see JaQuay and LaRue from the Ags depleted 2013 class)

Way to take my statement out of context. I never said this year didnt matter. I never brought up excuses for charlie having benefited from his first year of coaching momentum.


My statement was based on the fact that their team has a lot of question marks on offense and defense, both player wise and coaching wise. my statement wasnt based on "running the state" with regards to recruiting. All i said was that if we fix our team especially on defense then we should see an uptick in our recruiting. And my blip on the radar comment was referring to that. The perception is that tu is coming back and were regressing. All signs point to tu struggling next year based on who they have on the team and who they have as coaches. We seem to have fixed our coaches.

That is why i said lets see how next year goes. You know, since this year is over already.

Sips are saying they're defensive class is one of their best ever. This old army will believe it when he sees it! No way in BDF can these clowns do it.
