Not even remotely true.

In all fairness, it was true up until 111 years ago, with true meaning that it wasnt really true, it was just that "air rights" were completely irrelevant and had no value, so the government allowed people to claim that they own the sky and stars.

True story. The entire Texas A&M campus is within the 5 mile no fly zone of Easterwood. Sucks, but yeah it is technically not legal.

Nice job thinking ahead and buying stars so you weren't maxed out by the 5 post limit. This allowed you to maximize your exposure time to prospective clients. You should have bought an ad though as it would have given you even more exposure to your product, but I can understand operating with a limited budget.

Helms' video was way better than yours though IMO. He did a much better job filming the stadium. But, good luck with your marketing campaign. Onward and upward.

There is no "no fly zone". The rule is under 400 feet and must notify tower within 3 miles of airport.

My 2 cents: too many cut aways with choppy editing. I'd rather have a 20 second sweeping span of what I'm viewing than getting choppy cut aways just when my eyes and brain adjust to what I'm seeing.

As ugly as the campus is, it looks like the grass may have improved in certain areas? When I was in school, 90% of the campus was soggy, marshy grass or mud, with sidewalks seemingly designed to collect as much water as possible. On days when it would rain (which seemed like every day around 2002 or 2003), you would have the choice of walking through the deep puddles on the sidewalk or the muddy grass just off the sidewalk. Good times.

Awesome. What drone are you flying? I'm thinking of buying a phantom II.

DJI Phantom Vision 2 Plus. I also modified it with an antenna boost kit for the transmitter and FPV video feed. IMHO the antenna boost kit is an essential purchase because otherwise in congested, urban environments you lose connection with the copter and you lose video feed way too easily/frequently.

Also, if you're dropping 1200 on the quadcopter already, I recommend getting a case for it. I found a soft case backpack online that has been amazing. Only negative is that if you put bumpers on the props, your copter won't fit in the case.

Anyway, good luck and I encourage you to do plenty of research on the different UAV options out there. I probably spent 40 hours researching before I got the PV2+.

thanks for the feedback. I'm certainly a novice videographer and didn't get half the shots I wanted because of the scattered showers the day I shot the video.

yeah the distance from the control tower depends on the class of airspace, could be anywhere from 3-5NM. and yes there are "no fly zones" like military bases and such. but anyway, the reason for me posting my video is just because I thought other ags would like to see some aerial footage of the campus.

The Texas A&M University System Aerospace Engineering did a report on Easterwood and details all the rules/regulations. page 10 and 11 are the most helpful.

You're right. But once again, I'm still not worried about it.

IMO I just think the FAA has so many other things on their plate that are UAV/drone related to fine me on a technicality. The FAA has never fined someone for something so mundane as this before and if history repeats itself, I don't think they will start with me.

They will just keep issuing idle threats until they release legitimate, useful, reasonable legislation on how personal UAVs should be operated. That is, unless you are an idiot who flies your drone into an airport or hits someone with your UAV or something of that sort.

You have posted on exactly one thread in your entire TexAgs life and it is this one. I don't believe that you are an Aggie and I don't think that you care about football. I don't think that you want to discuss football. I think that you are trying to get free advertisement on this site for your business. Hell, your user name is your company name. Usually the staff will shut this crap down when they figure out what you are doing.

I own a business too and I would love to advertise on here, but I don't. And I certainly don't spam the board with advertisements about my company and disguise it as cool shots of the stadium to my ex student aggie nation friends. That's my problem with you. If you would like to discuss aggie football on the aggie football board then I would welcome you with open arms. If you want to keep talking about your toy and your company then I will keep calling you out.
