Johnny can't freakin carry the Browns. In his first start he was expected to get into a shoot out, and if you expected Johnny to win a shootout in his first NFL start, then I should be ashamed for arguing against you.

I would've thought the Ags, of all people, would know what happens when a rookie QB goes into a game with a sub-par surrounding cast (Freshman wideouts, Freshmen defense, poor blocking) and play calling (Spavital). QB's take time to develop, something no one has anymore (correct answers: time, developed QB's).

JM should not have thrown two passes. It cost him. The fact that the Browns d was awful and just let the Bengals run over them is immaterial. The penalties in the first drive set the stage for the rest of the game.
When you are up it is really easy to T off on the QB when all focus is on him. The rest of the Browns' team did not help much.

Tough circumstances to start under. The bengals clearly wanted that game more. Both players and coaches looked defeated. I don't take too much out of this game. Johnny pressed a lot trying to make a spark. But that game was lost before it ever started. I will wait and see how Johnny responds and I'd like to see if the team backs him. They are fractured right now.

What happened Sunday was a perfect storm, and it was also how the NFL is. Cleveland absolutely thumped Cincy a few weeks earlier, and as is true to fashion the watered down NFL, Cincy returned the favor. I think Johnny will be OK. His durability will be the biggest issue that he will face.
