Haha no. Auburn got (really, really) lucky last year. Now that Malzahn's pact with Satan has obviously ended, I expect to see them go closer to 6-6 or 7-5.

1) Preseason rankings are garbage, no matter who puts them out. I wish there was a way to not only outlaw them, but to outlaw all rankings until at least a few weeks into the season. It's beyond stupid that a team can start out preseason #1 and lose a few games, but not fall as much as if they had started NR or #15. etc. Could be a whole new thread on this.
2) Let's pretend they actually were a good idea, and everyone agreed we should have preseason rankings. What case would you make for the Aggies to be ranked? I'm not really trying to start a fire, but when a 4 loss team loses three guys in the first round, it's hard to think they will see no dropoff.

I'd be willing to bet that fans of lots of teams would say the same thing. Not really an argument of why you think A&M will earn it.

They got lucky against Georgia, yes. But Auburn is legit. They rotated a bunch of freshmen on D-line last year. Nick Marshall didn't get to campus until last August! As good (but raw) as he was in 2013, he'll be much improved. He will surpass Winston as the Heisman favorite. Book it.

I just don't see them cakewalking their way through their schedule simply because they had an amazing run last year. I see them closer to 9-3 or 10-2, provided their defense doesn't have any issues.

And they'll probably lose all of those games. They got lucky against us, against Georgia, and against Alabama last year.

Maybe I'll be wrong and they'll win the SEC title again, in which case I'll eat my words. But for now, I'm sticking with a 6-6 prediction, with a ceiling of 8-4.
