Yeah, I have a conflicting thoughts on that generation, one of which my uncle (who actually was there on the beach at Normandy at D-Day). On the one hand they were very heroic and literally sacrificed their lives for our freedom. However, they also supported FDR and his SS, as well as LBJ and his great society (which brought us Medicare), so we can also thank them largely for the 17 tril we have in debt now.

Well, the fictional character of Santa Claus can be any color you want him to be.

Now, a quick wikipedia scan (yes, I know. Wikipedia. But seriously, we're talking about freaking Santa Claus here) shows that the character of Santa Claus is based primarily on the Dutch figure of Sinterklaas, which was based on Saint Nicholas. This then absorbed elements of the Germanic pagan god, Odin. It also incorporated characteristics of the British folklore character, Father Christmas.

Now, I'm not sure what people looked like in the 3rd century in Turkey, but I imagine they probably had a darker hue than the current WASP portrayal of Santa Claus.

The fact the US has a low ranking for freedom of the press has no correlation to Fox news or any main stream media outlet. The amount of freedom of the press is determined by the government protecting it. Also the fact a dog looks at a lot of newspapers while crapping on them doesn't mean he is well informed.

Never said looking at more sources, in and of itself, makes one more informed. It's just smart, however, to not rely on one singular source. It's about what sources one looks at. Organizations like MSNBC and Fox News are not credible. They are party mouthpieces.

The point is to use multiple sources to help negate the effect of biases. Relying solely on Fox News or MSNBC, for example, is intellectually lazy and foolish.

You were and still are painting with a broad brush saying FOX and MSNBC aren't credible. They do get some things right. You do get it right when you say relying solely on them for news is foolish. I won't complain about hot news reporters, their creditability isn't established by how good they do or don't look.

I'm sure Alex Jones gets some things right at times. Doesn't make him credible. The totality of their product just does not scream "credible" to me. I believe the Constitution is a worthless piece of paper that's more suited for toilet paper. To paraphrase Lysander Spooner, it has either authorized the government we have or been entirely powerless to prevent it. Either way, it's unfit to exist.

How about you protect your own rights, instead of relying on a 200 year old piece of paper? Personally, I'd rather place my trust in God, not a select group of white landowning men that have been dead for nearly 200 years. But that's just me.

Nope, I don't vote because I'm a Christian anarchist and do not believe that any man possesses the rightful authority to rule over another. I do not believe it is moral for me to appoint someone to rule over you.

The fact that people view this system as legitimate is laughable. Look at it this way:

Only 65% of population is even eligible to vote

Of that 65%, only 45-55% actually vote in the presidential elections

Of that 45-55% that actually vote, only 45-50% vote for the "winner"

So, that means approximately 80% of the population is then ruled over by someone they never chose to rule over them.

How on earth can anyone see this as a legitimate system? Oh, because we're 'merka!
